Co-op Food - Wigtown

Friendly staff and I was surprised at the selection of products they had for a small store, prices reasonable compared to other local stores

All essentials covered and staff are very friendly.

We'll stocked shop with most things you need,

Having been unable to get a vegan meal in either of the two restaurants that were open in the area, we tried to get something to eat in the Co-Op over the road. Usually Co-Op’s have good plant based meal deal options, not this one, they had nothing available. Very poor in 2022 to not have better options. One member of staff barged past, bumping my husband, (who was trying to close a broken freezer door) as she was talking on a headset and called back, ‘I’ll just squeeze past you there’, no apology, just utterly rude. In the end we bought bags of salad and rolls and headed back to the holiday rental to make them. We bought plant based burgers and half of those were freezer burned when we opened them. Just terrible experience, that caused other business to miss out on our potential custom, since we were forced to head out of Scotlands Book Town to eat. We can’t be the only vegan or vegetarian customers to visit the town.

Good size shop. Handy for the locals a 'like'. average co-op items ..

Since moving to Wigtown several months ago this wee co-op has been a great lifeline for us. The staff are all amazingly friendly and approachable especially if you can't find anything, all you need to do is ask and they're always happy to help.
