Clowns Coffee Bar

If you want something a little less like a chain coffee store and something with a bit more character then this is the place to go. Its not hard to find and the main meals and pudding are all home made by Raffaele. The pasta dishes are great and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. nothing is too much trouble and the coffee is great. If you want to know about Italian cooking ask Raffaelle, what he doesn't know isn't worth knowing.

Have been a regular to Clowns for many years and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, food and friendly, hospitable staff. Unfortunately, my experience last night was not so good when I was quoted by a staff member at the till as owing £55, I paid £60 (3 x £20 notes). Got my £5 change which I thought was correct. Asked for a receipt, which I checked later after leaving the cafe, and found the total for all drinks and food was actually £35. Staff member kindly informed me that she would check to see if the till was up at the end of the night and will be in touch. Hoping that this was just a simple till error and that I will hear back from the cafe before they close on June 9th.

I come here once or twice a month on a Sunday. The staff are always wonderfully welcoming and work so hard to keep everyone happy. There are always generous portions of wonderful Italian and traditional British homecooked food - no wonder it's so popular.

Visiting Clowns is not like going into a business or restaurant, but rather it is like being warmly welcomed into a family home. The food is fantastic, home cooked Italian, the coffee and cakes are first class, but most of all, the welcome is wonderful. If you are having a bad day, go to Clowns and you will feel the kindness and be happy. Having a great day, go to Clowns and celebrate. This great family run restaurant is due to close in early June so don't miss out, visit this week.

This place is an institution! I have been coming here since 2003 and I still love it. The owners are wonderful; friendly, attentive and genuine. The food is tasty, warm and cheap! If you pay a little more for the specials, they are very delicious (recommend the spaghetti vesuvio for spice lovers). Friendly for group bookings too. Love them!

If you want to feel welcome this is the place to go. A perfect coffee and good homemade food. Free wifi. Always my favourite choice to sit and relax and take in the Italian's family atmosphere :)

A really beautiful local Italian run by some of the most friendly people I've ever been served by! Their food won't amaze you or blow your mind, but it tastes like it's been made with care and love and is fantastic value for money. One to go to when you want a home cooked meal without the guilt of it being too unhealthy! The coffee here is decent but nothing amazing.

A wonderful day, transformed in an awful day! The owner of the restaurant lost her temper just because of a question that my friend (she) made. She start shouting on my friend and saying that if they delayed is because they are busy, and we have to understand the situation. The problem was that we didn't complain at all, we just asked. I think that is very unprofessional treating people and shouting in front of everyone.A disgraceful experience

It's extremely cheap, very cheerful, and always welcoming. The pasta is amazing and so is the coffee. Also the cafe provides free wi-fi and has an upstairs seating area, that is usually quite quiet during the daytime, so I find it is a good place to go and read/write/work.

Always go here when in Cambridge. Always eat Italian as that's what it is .shame they do the English breakfasts really.its too off piste ..don't u derstand the review here for 3 stars purely because of his clients phobia.if partisan forgotten just remind them! My lady friend had sore throat so they found a lozenge for her and extra tea on the house! Big portions always delicious
