This weekend we visited Calthwaite Hall and Lodges to celebrate the wedding of our friends Matty and Ginny.( mother of the best man)The staff and owner Tony were very attentive, and we couldn’t fault a thing. The lodges were inviting and comfortable with everything you need for your stay. The hot tub was also very relaxing.The day went very smoothly without any hitches, and the food was tremendous provided by the Globe pub which is also owned by Tony.We will definitely return

We stayed in the most amazing lodge ever , super clean , tidy and welcoming . It had a lovely hot tub with led lights . The lodge also came with sun loungers, table and chairs and a nice grass area for children. The check in was very easy because you just have to check in at the pub opposite the lodge . It was a lovely site to go on because there where only 9 lodges so it meant it was very quite . They also had stables at the end of it which my daughter loved. The owner was very nice and welcoming (Tony,Brigette and summer). Would definitely come back again .

My husband, our friend and I sadly returned home yesterday from a four night stay here. FABULOUS!Tony and Paul and their staff were very helpful, professional, polite and helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay top drawer.The lodges are beautiful and immaculate with everything you could possibly want for aTop quality stay,comfortable beds and bedding, beautiful and comfortable relaxing lounge with flat screen tv and free WiFi. Every appliance in the kitchen, including a fully functioning dishwasher. Perhaps it's me, but I would not require a washing machine for a 1 night stay, unlike the 1 star complainer, who stayed in the same style lodge as us for 1 night while we there.I strongly advise you to ignore that review which is utter rubbish!The hot tub was private and checked every day for water hygiene and temperature. The grounds and gardens are electric gated and very peaceful..with the benefit of peacocks strutting round displaying their beautiful plumage and were also friendly. There are various other birds and animals to observe as well.The village pub is also owned by the estate and within a very short walk provides good food and a fully stocked bar open every day.If we could give it 12 out of 10 we would and can't wait to return again for what we hope will be many more relaxing, comfortable and perfect stays.

Family of 4 stayed in Aspen Lodge recently. On going in everything looked fine and it was really cosy. When coming to cook our evening meal, pretty much all the cutlery and utensils were dirty resulting having to wash them all. These need checking really before a guest goes in.In the double room there were cobwebs in the light shades, a dead spider left in the voile, toothpaste on the bathroom blind, hairs in the shower and someone’s purple shampoo left on the shower nob! It’s not really acceptable considering the price was over £600 for 3 nights!The grounds and the area were really nice and the hot tub was a lovely area to relax. I was told the hot tub would be checked and solution added daily to keep clean but no one came.I think the check out time it too early of 9am, I asked to pay for a later check out but this option wasn’t available. This is more of a static than a lodge.I wouldn’t go back again.

Lovely place, the location is fantastic, so are the views. Especially the hot tubs are greatly maintained. However, the wifi is not reliable and the phone signal not so good either. If you can look past that, it is a great place to stay.

loved our stay in one of the microlodges!waking up every morning to peacocks and a chicken walking around the site aswell as watching the horses in the field was lovely.The lodge was perfect for 2 of us and we can't fault it in anyway.The owner comes round and does welcoming checks which we thought was nice.The food at the Globe Inn is lovely aswell are the staff (very helpful) the pub is worth a visit.I read a few reviews regarding the noise the birds made at night, honestly, we didn't hear them once!

Family with 2 kids, stayed at the carriage house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the kids loved it. It is great value for money, it is all ideal. The carriage house was clean, tidy and very comfortable and set in a gorgeous, beautiful location, and the hot tub was superb and a great bonus. The property is really well thought out, we felt it is like a home from home, it had everything, dishwasher, washer/dryer, we could not fault it at all. Parking was also no issue. There is a pub, The Globe Inn, 2 minutes walk away and it is set in an Idyllic setting, with historical and great places not too far away to visit. Cannot recommend highly enough. Tony and the staff were all lovely and welcoming. Will definitely be back if they'll have us.

We booked Calthwaite Lodges for 3 nights and it was simply brilliant. The private enclosure makes you safe and our two girls could happily explore, so as parents you have peace of mind. The lodge was equipped with all you need and it's beautifully decorated and high spec and also included outdoor furniture and cushions to relax of an evening. The added luxury of the hot tub was amazing after a day of exploring. From the moment we arrived to the point we left, nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very welcoming indeed, includimg the peacocks that love to be fed, very cool! The Globe Inn is right opposite the site and the food and refreshments were absolutely top drawer and Steve and his staff all look after the site. Our two girls loved the site and the pub as it has a beer garden at the back so has all you need. Don't think this will be our only visit to Calthwaite and even met the owner's, whom were just as lovely and welcoming. Fantastic place and couldn't recommend more highly!

Had a lovely weekendLodge was clean and tidyAll staff were friendly and helpful.Hot tub was excellent.Go around the gardens you will see white peacocks and black swans among other animals.Really cannot fault this place

A bit over priced for what it was, a lodge ( caravan) , why not state is as a caravan rather than a lodge. The house it self the (Gardens ) you can only walk around it from 12 - 2pm, if you have a dog means you fetching it out during hottest part of day..... The hot tub can only be used between 8am till 11pm, Not a lot of public footpaths around fields to walk around, found one by a river a good 5 miles away meaning you have to drive... Cracked window in small bedroom , loose kitchen tap, toilet door not locking, cooker rings hard light, chip on kitchen worktop( coverd up by Chopping board), which I reported to owner, he said we know about those, well why not have those fixed soon as... ? ,,,,,,,,,,,,, , utensils in kitchen very limited, .... 4/10 if I had to rate it. Rant over..
