Charles Willis-Owen - Knee Surgeon

I am very pleased with the care and attention I was given. Mr Willis-Owen was very thorough and clear in his explanation of the procedure and subsequent recovery. My knee is recovering well and I am looking forward to life gradually getting back to normality. Many thanks.I needed a second knee replacement and had no hesitation I contacting Mr Willis-Owen. He performed the operation 9 weeks ago and I am delighted with the result. Not only is he a very skilled surgeon but also extremely caring and a very nice person. I was always put at ease, had anything and everything explained to me and always knew that I was in very capable hands. I recommend him wholeheartedly. I can't thank him enough.

I would highly recommend Mr Willis-Owen as a knee surgeon. I felt in safe hands from the moment I met him and throughout my surgery and follow-up care. I totally agree with other reviewers that his interest and care and attention has been outstanding. His communication skills and approachability are second to none. I had knee arthroscopy and partial medial meniscectomy for a torn meniscus, and looking at my knee, there is no evidence of knee surgery at all! While I appreciate keyhole surgery is less invasive, I did expect some noticeable scarring. Nuffield Health staff have also been excellent, from nursing care to physiotherapy. My recovery has been excellent and now at 7 weeks post-surgery, I am cycling and exercising at the gym, attending Yoga and Pilates classes, and within the next few weeks I will be back to running and tennis. Thank you so much Mr Willis-Owen, you really are the best surgeon!

I found Charles through an internet search for sports oriented surgeons, so went to see him with no personal references. The initial consultation for a ACL graft was prompt and professional, and I came away confident that he knew his game and I was in good hands. Surgery went smoothly, and recovery support has been excellent through both post operative consultations with Charles, and the regular physio team support. My recovery is going better than either Charles or I could have anticipated, so this speaks volumes about the quality of the procedure. Will certainly be recommending Charles to anyone needing knee work.

I have just recently undergone a knee arthroscopy to repair a complex tear of the medial meniscus, at Bournemouth Nuffield under the care of Charles and his team. Having had pain for some while, their attentiveness, expertise and excellent care, before, during and after the operation, filled me with great confidence that I was in the best hands. Indeed, I now have no pain, am walking normally and feeling more energetic than I have for months. Making sure I follow the advice and exercises given by Charles and my physiotherapist, I hope to be on the golf course very shortly ….. just need some help with my swing now Charles!

Charles replaced part of my knee following damage I had sustained from some falls over the years. I was limping and with pain. Eight weeks after the operation the knee is now perfect and I can walk, cycle and live a normal life without any pain or problem with the knee. I am 74 years old. Thank you Charles.

Very pleased with the knee replacement surgery. Still pain due to muscles and nerves but the knee is very straight and stable. Scar really neat. Excellent surgeon with a positive attitude and encouragement. Would absolutely recommend without any hesitation.
