Helpful volunteer wardens, interesting displays, good views from deck area.As Autumn arrives, the variety of migrant birds will increase - some stay briefly; other linger longer. Each visit displays a different scene.

The information about the marsh and its varied wildlife is second to none. Binoculars and telescope available. Children and dog friendly. FOSM (friends of Stanpit Marsh) coffee mornings are very friendly and welcoming to all visitors. Highly recommended

Calm and relaxing. Need free therapy? Come here hangout with the horses. Don’t get too close though.

What a great place for a visit and walk. Lots of wildlife about, including a domestic cat, a good distance out in the open, which is unusual for a moggy. Good to see the horses and some foals too. The visitor centre was great. Lots of interesting exhibits. Paper and coloured pens provided for colouring in the stencils provided. Thumbs up to the FSOM team

Excellent visitor centre full of up to date and comprehensive information on the wildlife in, on and around the marshes. Great for children as very educational and engaging.

Lovely and purpose built visitor’s centre for the Stanpit Marsh area. Interesting information about the wildlife and area and a ‘must do’ visit if you’re walking or exploring the marsh.

I often fly fish here, and I always buy a permit to fish. What irritates me beyond belief are the volunteers who work there who constantly pester and badger both myself and other anglers about where I can and can't fish, despite me following the fishing guide down to a tee. What's more, anglers pay to fish here, the bird watchers and volunteers just prance about and cause a fuss without spending a penny. What many bird watchers and nature reserve fanatics don't understand is how committed anglers are to preserving wildlife and maintaining natural habitats. The vast majority of anglers pay for a rod license which goes towards maintaining the UK's green spaces and water ways, and are also involved in local angling clubs that maintain and nurture local rivers and lakes. It's such a shame, because Christchurch Harbour is such a beautiful spot, so it should be enjoyed by anglers and bird watchers alike. Instead, the militant bird watching brigade ruin it for the rest of us by having the volunteers harass the anglers on a daily basis. Rude, ignorant and arrogant people.
