Came across this great independent coffee house whilst at the Kendal Mountain Festival. What a great vibe with friendly welcoming staff great coffee and yummy cakes and soup. What a superb location, right on the River Kent with outside seating that will come into its own in the warmer months. Come in and say hello to the 2 young men Mark and Scott who own No Hands Rest.

Pleasing aesthetic, nice to have something like this back along the riverside. Coffee is fine.Staff appeared to ignored me for a few minutes before serving me, seemingly just chatting amongst themselves, and the gentleman serving didn’t greet me afterward - just stared at me. Not the best first impression as a result.

No-Hands Rest Coffee House
My wife and I popped in for a hot drink and a little treat. Both were delicious. The café is clean, stylish and modern and the location is great. The staff were also friendly and engaging. If you need to “go”, the bathroom is great and wheelchair friendly. If you choose to sit outside, you get to enjoy the river Kent running by. Dogs are also welcome but need to be kept under control if you choose to take them inside. All in all, I’d highly recommend you pop in if you’re keen to good food and a great spot to spend time with friends and family.

Excellent coffee and super friendly service. The decor is clean and stylish, yet comfortable, bright and open.This is now my favourite place to sit and have a relaxing cuppa.

Lovely cafe with friendly service, and good quality coffee! Atmosphere is great too, decor is very trendy but cosy with a Scandinavian touch and there are sockets to allow some remote working.

Would be more but the times and days open are a bit restrictiveA lot of people need to be at work at 8am and that’s when you open, also you close at 5 so you can’t get a coffee after workAnd Monday you just need a caffeine fix to start your week and can’t get thatApart from that no complaints

The best hang out in town. Great vibe inside and out and a relaxed atmosphere. Really great coffee too. Staff were lovely and really added to the experience of this spot, thanks guys!
