The Plough Inn

I am from Germany and my family and me visited the Plough Inn for a few days. The room was incredibly comfortable. It was also very clean and silent. The waitress was very lovely and at breakfast she took her time to help us understand the dishes. The food was very delicious and the service was a 10/10. The location of the plough Inn was perfect for a relaxing holiday in the nature. We went for walks on public footpaths which were directly nearby and which led us directly into the stunning and calming nature. I really recommend a trip to this perfect hotel and I am definitely looking forward to going there again :)

I enjoyed a fantastic birthday meal with family. The food is always excellent. The location is perfect and whether it is enjoying sitting out front in the summer sunshine or walking into cosy real fires in winter - it is a lovely welcoming pub. The service is brilliant. I am particularly grateful for how special I was made to feel.... balloons and even a personal birthday card on the table - so kind and thoughtful - thank you!

The food here is absolutely amazing, they have a wonderful range of menu and the food is so exquisite....the service is fabulous too, so friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place to return to

We recently held our informal wedding reception here and it was absolutely fantastic. Diane, Elliott and the whole team were incredible from start to finish. The food was fabulous and the service was second to none.Thank you so much for making our day so special!

We only ate and drank at the pub, we didn’t stay at the hotelFood, drink and service was lovely. Completely understand why the pub has won so many awards.Only negative was the toilets obviously haven’t been updated for 15-20 years. There are two women’s toilets and one of those the door doesn’t shut properly. It’s really odd that’s never been fixed? It wouldn’t take long to sand it down so it can shut and lock.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, there was no better place to enjoy a couple of pints and some light bites with friends. Lovely beer garden to the front but also if it looks busy as you drive past it’s worth checking to see if the courtyard area is available as it’s a really nice spot. Decent menu certainly lots of vegetarian choices. Reasonable prices considering you are in a really popular Peak District location.

Came with my wife for lunch a few weeks ago. I had the ploughmans and my wife had the smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches both of which were excellent with top quality ingredients and great to find a proper ploughmans lunch. The pub itself was the welcoming and cosy, the staff were all very friendly and attentive and the food was very reasonably priced. Highly Recommend

I stay here on a regular basis when I travel to England for work. It's a lovely pub,the food is always excellent and well priced. I arrived late last night after the kitchen had closed and they still made me something up (thanks!). The service is also superb and the rooms are spotless. Definitely my go to place.
