Traveling in from the US with a friend, I was able to find an amazing wedding band for my husband. They went over all the jewelers marks with me and helped me make sure the size was good. Such a cute shop. When we return as a couple I'm making sure we go here again!

I recently wanted to sell some surplus family jewellery and this was the third place I tried. I was pleased to receive an entirely professional, knowledgeable service from the two owners. I was particularly happy that they planned to restore/repair some to sell on. The other places I tried largely dismissed the items, apparently with the intention of offering lower prices. If you are looking for fair dealing, I'd recommend this business without reservation.

This is a special store amidst a sea of tartan tat. Royal Mile Curios is a warren of gorgeous silver, watches, and estate pieces. The owners are gracious, knowledgeable and generous with their time. My small purchase came with silver hallmarks, and the gentlemen offered loupe and hallmark guide to show the provenance of the piece. They then offered advice on travel, Edinburgh in general and local dining. One of the most special Edinburgh moments for me.

This wonderful tiny shop sells vintage jewellery from the 1800s onwards and they have a huge selection of vintage silver. The two gentlemen are very knowledgeable in the background and history of the style and stones of their items. They can bring you books and a wealth of information on whichever piece you’re interested in. They still remember the items I bought 8 years ago. Every item is explained throughly from the provenance of the gemstone, gold, style and era of the design. Victorian jewellery and silver are their specialty, especially Scottish estate jewellery.
