Very nice place to celebrate a birthday or christening or a funeral

I went to a baby shower here it’s a lovely venue however, the heating did not work the staff told us they couldn’t switch it on and offered us portable heaters which never came! We were all sat with our coats on freezing unable to enjoy ourself, not only that but there were pregnant women, children and babies freezing. It is ridiculous that this problem was raised at 1pm and was still not fixed by the time we left at 5:30pm, it is a shame as it would have been a really good afternoon if this easily fixed problem had been dealt with!

We hired out the function room on Saturday for my baby shower and I am extremely disappointed with what could have been such a perfect day but instead was ruined the room being extremely cold, no heating was left on resulting in lots of my family and friends having to leave early and the remainder of people being sat with their coats on. After numerous complaints made to staff behind the bar my elderly Aunt was promised that fan heaters would be brought down to the room as the heating had broken however these never arrived! Another close friend was then given cups of tea on the house by the young boy behind the bar as a sorry that it was so cold. He then proceeded to put the oven on in the kitchen to try and get any warmth through to the room that he could. After speaking to the owner of the club and asking for some money to be reimbursed to compensate I was spoken to in a very un professional way and told the heating was not broken and “was never turned off and someone is telling a few fibs”. He then proceeded to say the heating was turned up on the boiler by Adam the young boy behind the bar- the same boy that told us the heating had broken and were giving out free cups of tea to compensate! It’s such a shame because it’s a lovely venue however I wouldn’t ever hire it out again for another function as I’m very disappointed in the way I was spoken to over this matter, no empathy was shown what so ever and I was told complete lies as everyone at the venue that day can confirm that no heating were on and the room was absolutely freezing. It’s evident from other reviews on here that they’re not keen on having the heating on.

I went to a baby shower here, the cricket club is lovely however we turned up at 1pm and it was freezing so asked for the heating to be put on which the staff said they did, the heating never came on, we asked multiple times and they said heaters would come but they never did. We all had to sit with coats on the whole time which made the baby shower less enjoyable as the whole time everyone was freezing. Also that there were children and a pregnant women there which isn’t nice for them to be freezing, bearing in mind there was a storm outside. The problem was easily fixable yet no staff tried to fix this issue, the whole baby shower would have been better if the heating was fixed.

Hired the room for a 60th, excellent size and bar was sufficient, we did our own music and had caterers deliver food brilliant evening the room is so worth it

Attended a Baby Shower here at the weekend 19/2/22. Venue was lovely and accessible despite the snow. However once in the venue we found the room to be freezing. We highlighted this to the bar staff, who I have to say were lovely. Like us, they were concerned that the babies attending the event were also freezing, causing people to leave early to go home to get warm. We did recieve hot cups of tea to try to keep us warm and the staff tried to get heat to the radiators which were freezing ,to no avail. They even put the oven on in the kitchen hoping this might help. How sad that what was a lovely setting with the most helpful staff were let down by the heating and no effort was made to try to resolve this. Snow or no snow a room should be warm for babies to attend. Very disappointing that the persons accountable for trying to sort this did not find it an issue. I actually thought the host was very civil regarding the matter. Lets hope other people are not left freezing.

I attended a baby shower on Saturday 19th February. The room was nice with a lovely view however this was overshadowed by the function room being absolutely freezing cold and we were forced to leave an hour in as we had our daughter with us who was freezing. This was very disappointing. Understandably the weather outside was so cold however knowing this we expected the room to be heated and it wasn't. The room had radiators but they weren't on at all. A lot of time and money had gone into the preparation for the shower which was not enjoyable as a result of the temperature.

Watched a cricket match here Saturday 16th September 2023,nice ground, with good views, club is well positioned, and clean and well maintained / looked after club house,just a bit windy, enjoyed the visit and game.

Lovely venue but awful catering!!My lovely friend hosted her baby shower here on 19th Feb. When we arrived the room was freezing cold and we were made aware that the heating was not on. After the staff attempting to work the heating they told us that it was broken! They therefore offered to bring portable fan heaters to try to add some warmth to the room however these never arrived. Everyone was sat in their coats freezing cold! This was a baby shower with a cold pregnant woman and multiple young children. When trying to discuss this issue with the owner we were faced with rude, unkind words. Would have expected much better service than this!
