Our annual stay!Birthday or anniversary tradition since 2019.We love this place. The service is impeccable. We recommend the Sunday Sleepover, booking direct. It's great value for money and the most chilled vibes! GREAT food! You'll have the best sleep too! Thanks Simon and team, a well oiled vessel! Would love to see a spa package added... I'm sure you could find space for a heated pool and steam room!

Really disappointed with this hotel. Stayed once, loved it. Rebooked to show my husband Canterbury, we both caught COVID. I called to explain how unwell we both were (believe me they could hear how unwell) they refused to move the booking. We’ve lost so much money. The worst thing was I was too unwell and barely able to talk, it made us feel so much worse. Lack of human decency

There was a pneumatic-drill-like noise from the pipes all through the night, which could only be relieved by flushing the toilet. The mattress was so soft at the head end of the bed that we had to turn it 180 or else it felt like my head was downhill. The shower was freezing (despite running it for over 2 minutes to allow the warm water to run through), so I made do with a bath. The room is spacious, and clean, with big mirrors and plenty of storage, but I wouldn't recommend the room if you enjoy sleeping (unless you are deaf).Breakfast was fine, but the attitude from the front desk staff was combative. We'd accidentally booked a single occupancy for a twin (mum and daughter together), and to correct it we were told (at check-in) that it would be an extra £4, but by the time we checked out this had gone up to an extra £18. £157 for an uncomfortable bed, and a freezing shower seems a rip off. Sadly very disappointing!

Lovely hotel. Pretty design and lovely rooms. We were kindly given a room upgrade, the room we received was gorgeous. Everything was in great condition and well presented. Would definitely stay here again. Great night’s sleep. The only con was we were left with no hot water after one of us had a shower.

Excellent location and the bed was comfortable.The breakfast was excellent, but the service could have been better.For the expensive rate on a weekend, we expected slightly better room conditions.

Overpriced for what you get. Very well located hotel and building is beautiful/ historic.We stayed in a middle range room (Desirable), which had plenty of space and the mattress was very comfortable.However, the state of cleanliness was not “desirable” as there was a thick layer of dust in hanging lamps and around the mirror / furniture (as per pictures) - so if you or any guest have allergies to dust mites, etc. think twice or have antihistamines at hand.Also, the toilet / bathroom show deterioration as wall skirtings and joints / corners can be seen that they had better times…

Really a good one. The staff there were really nice and cooperative. I was there because of my university event, but I truly enjoyed it. We had lunch and dinner there, and the food was really tasty. Overall, it was a great experience.

Love this hotel when we stayed a few years ago. It is still lovely but we went for afternoon tea recently and it is definitely not worth the money and the service wasn't amazing as I would expect, it took a lot of effort to get someone's attention, meaning several trips to the bar to ask for things, it was a bit unmanaged.

Leaving a review specifically to say that Reese, an employee at this hotel, was incredible. We were in Canterbury to get married (also during peak tourist season) and she was so helpful and amazing. She helped us get my mother in law sorted with a handicap accessible spot, including late at night after the wedding, she answered everyone’s questions with ease, and she was overall just so organised, pleasant and helpful. She clearly knows what she’s doing and is a huge asset to the hotel. Much appreciated for her!Otherwise - our room was big and clean (super housekeepers), breakfast was good, and the champagne bar was a nice cozy place to sit and hang out in between festivities with very sweet staff. Thanks for making our wedding week amazing.
