The 1852 Hotel
Great location, staff are exceptional, definitely for a younger crowd though. Music and noise from the downstairs bar continue well into the night, as well as sound from the street. If you're looking for a location accessible to nightlife and restaurants, this is ideal. Wouldn't recommend for families or more laid back travelers looking to be in bed early.

Terrible hotel. I will not come back. The walls are paper thin. Noisy inconsiderate guests. No concierge or hotel staff to do anything for you when there is a problem. Rooms are a decent size, but poorly appointed and not well thought out. Not enough electrical outlets. Badly wired so that if one person turns on the bedside light the other goes on and vice versa. Of the two windows only one opens, as the other has been inexplicably painted closed. So it gets stuffy in the room very quickly when it is warm. Overall just bad.

Needed a room close to Queens for Q-Con event, and this was perfectly situated. However, when it came time to check in, it kept saying there was no room available despite it being booked weeks in advance. Used the help phone, who also tried to check us in to no avail. After 15mins they rang us back to tell us our room wasn't ready... An hour and a half after the check-in time of 3pm.Rooms were meh, TV is shoved in a corner and not overly viewable from the bed. Only lights in the room were the two bedside lamps. One small table right in front of the TV but kettle etc is just sat on the wardrobe shelf.Really over-priced for what you actually get.

The 1852 Hotel
After previously booking a b&b elsewhere and it being a disaster, I found this hotel and it was at a very reasonable price.The room was gorgeous, and I loved the little people watching bay.It's a self check in service, but they give you a free beer for it, happy days!The service behind the bar was brilliant too. I will definitely be back when I next come to Belfast! Thank you!

This hotel is right in the middle of a vibrant and well served area for food, bars and nightlife. Easily walkable from the city centre, The 1852 offers excellent value - the rooms are huge and offer excellent amenities - with a price that's extremely reasonable. Do note that it's positioned above a popular local bar and you can expect some street noise, but if you're looking for a getaway that focussed on the social aspects of a vibrant, brilliant city then this is highly recommended.

Nice hotel. Self check-in with a gift of a free beer. Unfortunately there were none when we checked in. The rooms are large(at least the one we had). It would be nice if the rooms had a little more functional shelves or seating. The bathroom is very large, but lacking anywhere for you to put your things while in the bathroom. Everything was clean and check-in was easy. There is a kettle in the room with instant coffee, tea and cookies, which is a nice touch. The beds were comfortable and the pillow great. A clock would had been a great addition to the room. There is plenty of lighting, both above and table lamps. The room also has a small fan which was great at night to circulate the air. There are a few mirrors in the room which is helpful for multiple people getting ready at the same time.Overall the hotel was a fun find and the rooms are beautiful. The location of the hotels is in a busy part of town. There are plenty of amazing food options around. We enjoyed our stay here at 1852.

Great location for City. Lovely lively bar. Clean, tidy and does the job. No USB( phone charger) in room but lots of plugs. TV was good when eventually worked it out. Auto checking in with phone. And a welcome beer free! Good study.

Self checking but you have to put your card in front of everyone, quite scary.Free beers to pick after the self checking.Spacious room and big bed !Beautiful Bathroom.Free parking just across the road !But it is pretty noisy. I can sleep with noise so I don't mind but my partner had a terrible night, so if you're a light sleeper, be careful.

On arrival the hotel looks good and pleasing to the eye The self check in is easy and hassle free the rooms are clean but extremely basic our room was 217 as requested it was a room not above the bar we a had a decent night's sleep and no noise could be herd .. we felt the lighting was in adequate the room was lit via several desk lamps this left room feeling dark now not a problem if your a guy but if your a woman trying to do makeup then this could pose as a problem as it did for mine .... Nice touches were a hairdryer in the room iron and board and a free beer in the fridge in the lobby (although empty when we arrived someone did restock it later on )Overall 3 stars is a more than fair review the pictures online of the rooms are misleading compared to what we got .This hotel would be more suited for hen and stag do were you arnt worried about the room or atmosphere definitely not for a romantic getaway or a vacation any longer than one night is it worth the £163 we paid no £70 /£80 a night would be a more justified price per night
