Woodlea House Surgery

I was a patient with this surgery for 6 years and honestly I'm starting to wonder whether the people writing good reviews are getting paid or something. I recently registered with a new surgery after years of not being taken seriously or listened to.My experience with this GP surgery as a chronic illness patient has been awful,I have experienced multiple long waits for appointments that have resulted in A&E visits. However here's one notable incident:The in-house physiotherapist was angry and dismissive, said she was booked for my wrists despite the issues being my hips and back. She also rushed me and didn't allow my partner to sit in with me. To add insult to injury, she told me to just exercise and that I wouldn't receive any other medications from any doctor for my condition, implying I'm lazy and a drug seeker. She also recommended aqua sports that are often expensive when I had told her I couldn't afford anything like that. This appointment had me in tears in the waiting room and while other staff members noticed my upset, no one asked if I was okay or checked on me. I wouldn't recommend taking elderly or vulnerable patients alone to this staff member as she can be very abrasive,also wouldn't recommend this surgery as a whole. Overall, my experience at this GP surgery has been extremely disappointing and I have little hope for improvement.

It is part of a group of medical surgeries, they have moved into what was Strouden Park Surgery. It's not my local surgery but I was able to get a quick appointment.The clinician I saw was very attentive and took onboard my condition.

Nearly died due to this surgeries malpractice!Called this surgery multiple times on different days over 2 weeks requiring an urgent appointment,One day they said I'd have a urgent call back from a doctor but they never did call.Another day I waited all day for a doctors call and just got a text referring me to a website which was less than useless.Third time on another day I waited 8 hours just to get a call telling me to go to A&E.Also called previously with a bad infection they could only give me an appointment in 3 weeks time! Had to purchase antibiotics online as the surgery wouldn't give me a consultation.Safe to say I do not recommend this surgery. Peoples health and lives are not safe in thier hands. Such a shame.

The most useless and unhelpful receptionists ever. It might take 20 minutes until someone would pick up the phone. I’ve managed to book a blood test one month in advance, but arriving at my appointment I found out that I first needed a consultation with my GP so the test cannot be carried out on the day. A knowledgeable receptionist would have no problem in telling me that at the time of making the appointment. So I’ve just lost my earnings for that morning for nothing. Very disappointing service!

The improvements made at this surgery have been amazing. Had an appointment with one of the clinicians Rebecca, and I’ve never felt so comfortable and at ease. She listened and really made sure she understood my symptoms/worries. Best experience I’ve ever had at a GP surgery.

I am aware that conditions are not the same as before after Covid-19 pandemic and many GPs are struggling with volume of patients but Woodlea House Surgery is so careless and not helpful or supportive at all as our Gp. During last one week I tried to call the gp many times to make an appointment for my five weeks coughing but it was not possible to reach them so after waiting at least 20 minutes on the phone I gave up each time. Today I insisted and didn’t give up. There was 21 people before me which is crazy already but the craziest thing was after I waited on the phone for 1 hour and 55 minutes (let’s say two hours ) the lady on the phone said no appointment is available so I need to call again next morning. I started calling them at 9 am and waited for two hours patiently then at 11 pm they refused me without any help. I am very hopeless about my gp because they are first contact for our health problems and not there when we need them.

Good doctors who care about their patients and listen to them too. Can be a little frustrating getting an appointment at short notice but I think every GP surgery nationwide is under-funded which doesn't help. However, they always squeeze me in due to my chronic medical conditions, and are always helpful. Been happy to use this surgery since I moved into the area over 10 years ago.

My phone call was answered within 5 minutes, bearing in mind the staff shortages they might be experiencing. The receptionist was very professional and asked some quite personal questions to enable her to book me in with a suitable GP. I got an appointment for the next afternoon.I can't fault the service that I have received.Thank you Woodlea House Surgery.

I rarely visit but when i do they typically have me waiting up to an hour past my appointment time before i am seen whereby I get misdiagnosed and perscriptions that never arrive at the pharmacy..... the doctor I saw was rather patronizing too.
