The George at Burpham
A very pleasant surprise. We booked for our anniversary on the strength of two recommendations on Facebook and we were most definitely not disappointed. The pub is in one of the prettiest chocolate box villages I have ever seen, and the setting with the sun ( yes, it came out!) getting low, was idyllic.Greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in, the staff were organised, efficient, professional and friendly, and very Covid aware. The food came quickly, was presented beautifully, and tasted delicious. We had a very good bottle of Chilean red to accompany our various dishes. The desserts did themselves justice too. Will definitely return and recommend strongly.

A very old (over 400 years) isolated but popular village pub that has deservedly overcome recent threat of closure. Saved by local passion and now a renowned destination. Originally The George and Dragon until recently, it has a good selection of beers, excellent food and friendly staff. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Accompanied by a nearby 12th century Saxon church.

Its hard to get to as no local transport too and from. Is a few miles from turn off of A27 Arundel near railway station.Wanted some food but was told they do over 120 meals on Sunday so have to book 2 weeks in advance. I do not work that way as am more of a spontaneous person. This seems the norm these days on a Sunday. Had a nice drink and sat out side on one of the benchs. There is a car park around the back quite large but gets full up very quickly. Not much parking on the streets around the houses and church. There is also a lovey green park where there is cricket played and children's fenced off play ground. Nice walks beyond with view of Arundel Castle used to take my dog there. They are also long field walks accessed through the church's grave yard over the wall.

Wonderful food, lovely service and beautiful setting. My friend and I popped in for lunch and wow, what a lovely lunch it was! Menu and wine/drink selection was great and the service was friendly and approachable. Wonderful pub and we will definitely be returning.

What an absolute cracker of a place. Highly recommended, a hidden gem. We stopped for a pint and a Sunday roast during our southdowns walk. Outstanding. Gluten free options available too. The staff were amazing. 10/10

Quite simply the best pub lunch I've had. It's a bit off the beaten track but the food is sensational and the service is very friendly and they look after you very well. Good local beer and the odd foreign one too. Well worth a visit and we are already looking forward to going back.

We had a drink and a bite to eat after a walk on the south downs. The pub is in a beautiful and quiet village, Almost no cars. We were there on a Sunday and didn't fancy a roast. There wasn't too many other choices so we had some side dishes. Food was good though.

Nicest pub food all year. We met as family from two different directions have been going to the pub couple of times a year, it keeps getting better!Lovely friendly service on arrival. Menu had some very unusual choices both starters and mains were excellent. We had very nice NZ wine as well.Had to force down desert but also well with it.

A remarkable meal, starting with a warm welcome and excellent service throughout. The menu offered some intriguing choices, and every mouthwatering dish was superbly prepared. Yes, it's a little pricey (for a pub) but heartily recommended.
