Very very nice peaceful placeCosy and has loads of odd things to look atPeople there are very polite and leave you alone.Trevor the owner was helpful made me feel comfortable and settled right away.Toilets and showers are clean tidy always toilet roll and hot water which is 20p for 5 mins shower.I would recommend this place to stay short or long term.I’m happy to come back again and would like to however the lady I think is Trevor’s wife kind made it clear on my way out they are fully booked up and probs not bother to try them which was a bit weird I almost felt like she didn’t want me to come back I don’t know whyA little offended as Trevor is such a nice guyOverall 10/10

Great location, walking distance to Pub. Basic facilties but more than adequate for our overnight stay. Lovely and quiet fields with electricity. Owners communication was very good.

COULD BE BETTER!AT ONLY £7 per night bad points: I wasn't expecting much but this site is not well looked after and there are permanent caravans on site which makes it feel like you're camping in someone's backyard. Toilets we're a little walk away from campsite and were grotty, old and broken but clean enough. Showers were cold but in good condition. Camping area was overgrown with long grass. Good points: quiet secluded and play ground nearby. Horses next door were a godsend to keep children entertained. People on site already were kind and caring and there's lots to do nearby. Running water was ample and if you want to get back to basics this is an option but would perhaps try elsewhere next time. Thank you and if facilities were improved I would come back.

I need to write this to warn other travellers with the ‘expectations’ this website creates. This is not a ‘traditional’ farm setting, though you may see 3 geese on arrival. Don’t expect to see livestock, or the rustic charm of a farm. As you drive into the site expect to see a large barn full of household furniture and junk on your left. Expect to see one field taken up by HS2 contractor caravans on your right. Expect to see various items of scrap lying around, like an old rusty jcb, piles of this, that and the other, lots of bins and recycle boxes in odd places. You’ll go into a second field, expect to see the bottom end of this field (to the left) full of scrap caravans, and vehicles. My pitch was at the top end of this second field - the grass was 2ft long - meadow like. The pitch itself hadn’t been mown. Yes, there’s a horse to feed in a field next door. Yes there’s a couple of chickens in a coup. There’s a blue portacabin shower block which has 2 showers, sad to say in my opinion were not clean and appealing and you need a £1 for half hour. The toilet block is the same - a mobile unit and not appealing to look at or enter. This site has been taken over by HS2 contractors, it’s not a ‘typical’ charming, rustic farm campsite. On the positive side, when I was there, the field was peaceful, the facilities worked, the owners are very helpful people. If you want a stop-over that isn’t an attractive ‘holiday’ environment, but simply a practical, convenient space to park up for a night or 2, then it will serve its purpose. If you know what to expect, you’ll be fine and might even love it.

Just the perfect place for a safe stay! We were so welcomed at Ashwell Farm, and even introduced to Conker the horse! Met some of the loveliest people, and woke up this morning to the view of open neighbouring fields. A real authentic camping experience for our twins first tenting trip. We’ll be back!

We were camping here and spoke to Trevor directly as he is the owner but doesn't have access to control the website. Facilities are very basic however if you have a caravan, there are a lot of pitches with power and water supplies. Trevor advised us that he is intending on upgrading the toilet washroom facilities but as it stands very basic is probably the best description. We paid £10 per night for camping. Cheap and cheerful is what we wanted and have no real complaints.

Enjoyed my stay on the farm, the owners were very friendly and relaxed......an up and coming little campsite, I'd return again sometime.

They inconsiderately decided to have a bonfire on the hottest day of the year so far, and we’ve had to keep doors and windows closed all night in 26 degrees just so we didn’t smoke ourselves out.
