I would 100% recommend Gemma. Ahead of my wedding I wasn’t really confident in wearing make up at all and had historically suffered from oily skin. Gemma came to do a trial and was so knowledgeable and reassuring, putting me at complete ease.We tried a number of products and looks and she was so patient whilst we found a solution that worked for me.I would never use anyone else!

Gemma Clarke did my make up for my Granddaughters wedding. I was abit nervous because I’ve never had my make up done professionally before. She reassured me throughout. I had no idea what colours I needed to compliment my outfit and I was very pleased with the results. As an older lady I was worried my face would be oily and blotchy but it wasn’t. Gemma was very professional and very polite. Thank you Gemma !

Honestly do not know what I would have done without Gemma. I booked Gemma after attending a number of weddings and events of friends that had all used her services before me. I was always in total awe of their looks after working with her.I booked her for my granddaughter’s wedding day. Nothing was too much trouble. Her calm, understanding and positive approach helped me immensely. As an older woman, it was so important for me to have a classy look that wasn’t too over the top and Gemma executed this beautifully.The make up lasted the whole day and it was so lovely to feel a million dollars on such an important day in my life.

I had a wedding make up trial with Gemma, she was really lovely but there were a couple of things about my trial that I wasn’t too happy with. My foundation was really patchy and textured and there were also other parts which weren’t quite right such as the contour and highlight. Gemma acknowledged how bad the foundation looked when my make up was finished and I raised it as a concern. Gemma felt the issues were down to my skin texture (which isn’t that bad, I do have slightly textured skin but manage a much better finish on my make up when I apply it daily). I also felt that as a make up artist she should have done a better consultation and observation of my skin before applying foundation which was clearly very unsuitable for my skin. With some encouragement from myself and my bridesmaids after finishing she did take the forehead part off and apply another foundation which was slightly better but still not good. She did not offer to rectify the rest of the face. I paid the £55 trial fee and she went home. An hour after she left the make up had separated on my cheeks and got patchy and cakey. About 6 hours later it had mostly gone. Due to this bad experience and all the issues, I emailed Gemma kindly explaining that I no longer wanted her to do my wedding make up due to the finish and the fact it never lasted. I was happy for her to keep the £55 I paid for the trial but requested the £38 deposit back. Gemma refused to give me any money back. My advice would be to have a trial before paying any deposit. Although I feel her terms are flawed, you can not secure a date before paying the deposit, however if you wait to have a trial first you risk losing the date as it is not secured. Gemma refused to acknowledge this was an issue with her terms and conditions. Overall, feel Gemma was unfair, unreasonable and unapologetic.

Worse experience. Trial was awful, not how I asked for it to be done at all. Didn’t even last hours. Gemma refused to give me the deposit back when I cancelled the booking because she did such an awful job, despite me paying for the trial. Ended up doing my own make up on the wedding day and it looked 1000s times better than her work.

Gemma has done my makeup numerous times and I couldn’t be happier! I am so so fussy when it comes to having my makeup done and rarely let anyone do my makeup. Gemma will always listen to exactly what I want and will always advise what is best. Gemma is also such a lovely girl and makes me feel so comfortable. Xx

Gemma did my makeup for my wedding and my evening reception which was a year later due to COVID. We went for 2 different looks, for the wedding day we went for natural glam and for the evening reception it was full glam. I had never had my makeup done professionally before and I was sold on Gemma from the masterpieces she had created. On my trial when she gave me the mirror to look at her work, I was amazed. My only word was WOW!!! Not only is Gemma hugely talented and passionate about her art, she is professional, kind and generous with her time. She goes above and beyond for her clients throughout the process, giving advice and helps with finishing touches on the day. I have been back to Gemma since my wedding events multiple times for makeup and I will do forever more. The Best Makeup Artist!!

Had Gemma come to my house recently as I wanted to treat myself for my birthday night out to look and feel amazing which is exactly how I felt when I saw my makeup in the mirror after Gemma finished. Gemma was professional, punctual and listened to what I wanted and created a natural but special look for me. Looking forward to having my makeup done by Gemma again soon.

I highly recommend Gemma. Gemma did mine and my bridesmaids make up for my wedding day. All of us absolutely loved it and it stayed perfect all day. From the trial she made me feel chilled, was kind and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
