Lovely garden, easily accessed by pushchairs (only one step) and dog friendly. We were lucky to discover the pub on a walkabout Saturday, then returned Sunday evening for dinner. The food was excellent, and the staff were lovely - they also had good knowledge of allergens and were able to recommend gluten-free options for me from the menu.We each had a Sunday roast; I had lamb and my partner had pork. Both were delicious and the meat cooked and seasoned perfectly, to the point where it would melt in your mouth.

Visited for a Sunday roast. The roast was decent and the service was fine. I would say a little bit pricey for what it is (you can get a much better roast for the same price in London). The restaurant setting is lovely and it has a very good atmosphere, and a good menu with lots of options and drinks. I did feel a little bit rushed as we had our table for 2 hours, were reminded of it several times and were told 30 mins into our booking that we only had an hour left (they needed it back ‘a bit before’ the 2 hour slot). Everything was fine timing wise it was just annoying being reminded so often.

Great little spot, especially in the garden on a sunny day. Had food here once and it was a great menu and presentation surpassed my expectations. Would recommend at very least to come in for a beer, I believe they do cocktails also (I had a bloody Mary and it was basic at best).

Venturing into Hove Place, newcomers might find the distinct, somewhat 'porky' aroma of the pub interior noticeable, but this feature adds to the authenticity of a venue that refuses to pretend to be anything but real. It's a nod to traditional pub culture, where the essence of hearty meals forms part of the atmosphere. This initial olfactory greeting shouldn’t deter visitors, as any uncertainties are swiftly allayed once the experience unfolds. While cozy and traditional inside, Hove Place's true heart lies in its impressive outdoor area. Stepping into the garden, patrons are greeted by a haven that speaks the language of both comfort and tranquility. This spacious outdoor retreat, adorned with lush greenery and ample seating, is the perfect setting for any gathering, offering a slice of serenity away from the urban hustle. Whether it's a sun-drenched afternoon or a cool evening with friends under the fairy lights, the garden space exudes a magical quality that cannot be overshadowed. The menu complements the laid-back atmosphere, with an array of delectable and hearty offerings that promise satisfaction. While the beverages pay homage to the time-honored traditions of pub drinks, there’s an innovative flair evident in the seasonal specialties.Hove Place manages to encapsulate the feeling of home for its patrons, with staff that carry the familiar warmth of long-time friends. They serve not just meals or pints, but an experience that lingers, urging you to return. In essence, Hove Place champions the quintessential British pub experience with a unique charm. It's a reminder that sometimes, a little imperfection adds character, making a place not just a venue, but a story in the making.

The pub itself has a nice atmosphere but nothing special to be honest. The food we had for our Christmas party was average. Drinks are reasonable priced. WiFi connection is really poor in the back garden area. Toilets are tiny but clean.

Great roast good qtys and lovely flavour. Good atmosphere and particularly nice for good weather outdoor dining. Friendly service although seemed quite stretched, e.g. drinks came out after main meal arrived. Would recommend overall.

Came here for a Sunday Roast and was not disappointed. The Yorkshire puddings were absolutely huge! They benefit from a gorgeous outside space which is lovely when the sun's out, and the place has a really nice atmosphere in general. Been back a few times just for drinks but didn't hesitate to bring family here for dinner when they were down to visit.

Pub is a lot bigger than it looks like from the outside ! It has a really nice garden in the back with heatlamps and a sheltered area alowing you to enjoy the outside area even if its colder. The staff was very warm and welcoming. I had a burger with chips which was perfectly cooked ! Would absolutely recommend it.
