I would recommend Robert. His report was very thorough and clear. He helpfully offered to discuss the report over the phone and this assisted in us gaining a full understanding of some of the main issues the survey identified. We are just about to purchase our 'forever' home and the survey and discussions with Robert have assisted us in purchasing the property with 'eyes wide open'. Although we do not plan to buy another property for a long time, I would not hesitate in instructing Robert/Hopps Partnership again.

Absolutely excellent surveyor. Robert surveyed the property, an old Victorian house, and left no stone unturned. But unlike most surveyors, the report was well balanced and informative - something especially challenging for period properties which are not standard boxes like new-builds. Sprinkled through our report were golden nuggets of maintenance and remedial work, along with a 2 to 5 year timeline of what to keep an eye on, or do. Needless to say, we were very impressed.

Professional, supportive, accommodating are all words that I can use to describe our experience of working with Robert. Upon initial contact he made it evident that he would be able to meet our needs, which was done through humility and a willingness to work with our tight deadline. Robert Hopps, of the Hopps Partnership, did an extremely good job of the survey of the property I'm in the process of buying and I would strongly recommend his services. Not only did he spot everything (he is sometimes rather alarmingly thorough - nothing slips past his eagle eye) but then he took the trouble to explain it all to me afterwards, in a way that I could understand, thus enabling me to make a fully informed decision about the house. It's a difficult time, especially with an older house (mine is approx 250 years old), and I felt I was in the best of hands when I decided to go ahead with my purchase.

I engaged Robert to undertake a Level 3 Survey on a new property, based on a number of 5 star reviews I could find online. I would like to echo all of those reviews. Robert provided an exceptionally thorough report, with lots of photos. He went the extra mile to get into the detail. There were a lot of issues identified so I had a long list of follow up questions. He was also prepared to fit into my schedule to discuss these on a lengthy call, and give cost estimates for everything (something which I had observed from reviews of other firms is not always forthcoming). We also ran through with a view to picking out the items which really matter, and those which would just be expected. All in all, a fantastic service. I highly recommend to others.
