Love the kitchen garden with it's great variety of herbs and vegetables.Delight during the Spring when the climbing roses take over the pergola and it is awash with colour

Review for Family Kitchen in kew gardens:Locally sourced food = canned beans. Honestly, chef, here is the recipe: boil beans for 30 minutes. Done.Advertising locally sourced food and serving canned beans is not a joke. Not funny.

The ambiance and design is great for children and the choice of sandwiches, snacks, cakes and teas and coffees etc is also good. However, we tried the hot food and and it was pretty tasteless, cold and mostly so overpriced for what it is. Like service stations, it felt like they are relying on people needing food with no nearby competition to keep the prices reasonable. Won't be eating here again.

Does not have the grass paths shown on the photos anymore as it was hard landscaped with gravel paths and raised beds in winter 2021/ 22. I think it looked better with the softer landscape, but it probably took a lot of work to keep it in good order. Good show of vegetables and growing techniques, the pumpkins and squashes tomatoes etc look great if you see them in season. The apprentice gardens, which are like allotment plots, are at the end of the kitchen garden opposite the bonsai glasshouse and look really wonderful in the spring and summer.

One of the most welcoming and impressive botanical gardens in Europe. Plenty of facilities well run and spread across it. One can sit and read a book and feel in the countryside, one can walk to Richmond and enjoy the river too

We were there for dinner in the late afternoon. There were no more tables clean. The staff seemed disinterested and bored. For a place like this, very bad. The pizzas just barely went through. The rest is disastrous!!! Simply a cheek!

So this review is in the wrong place, the children's kitchen garden café does not have a tag Looks nice but I don't want to wait in line for a hand made sandwich I just want a coffee.

I liked this garden since it has good informational signs and plant identifiers. It is probably the best kitchen garden I have seen. Plus it has one of the few ricin plants grown in public (see Breaking Bad).
