Really lovely shop with beautiful things made with care. We went in for a look and came out with three things. She even opened the shop for us on her day off and chatted us through all her designs. Would highly recommend a visit.

We had a very enjoyable and interesting visit to Shetland Designer. The owner, Wilma, has been designing and blending colours into patterns for decades. All products are handmade with Shetland wool (by Jamieson or others) to her design. Wilma was a delight to chat with, as she explained how she chose her shades from typical Shetland scenes. She was full of passion for her trade and a proud lady. Stop off and enjoy hearing about her skills within the Shetland wool industry.Yes, we both bought wool jumpers and beanies.

Definitely a must see place if you're in the area. Beautiful knitwear (and samples of traditional and modern patterns) in a wide variety of colours. Plus a very knowledgable owner who is a joy to talk to. Prices are also very reasonable for Shetland knitwear.

Coming here, I felt like a pilgrim visiting a cathedral of wool. Every item designed and created with devotion to beauty and craft - it is truly awe inspiring. I look forward to returning.

If you are at all interested in fine Fair Isle knitting, be sure to visit Wilma Malcolmson's studio. Her colour sense is breathtaking, and her designs among the best in Shetland.
