I can't comment on the cafe itself, unfortunately it was closed, but looked very inviting. The setting was amazing. I will definitely call in and sample their cuisine next I'm in the area

Tried to visit over Bank Holiday weekend, rang the bell on arrival which was next to a cash only" sign. Five minutes later someone came downstairs and asked "had we booked" when we did no we were told "sorry we are booked all day".Deliberately not lowering stars but posting to warn people to take cash and book in advance."

Had the most excellent afternoon tea sandwiches and cakes to die for and the scones so light and fresh best I've ever had and I've eaten a few.Book early.

Unfortunately the cafe was closed while we were there, but if the outside is anything to go by it will be great inside. It would have been nice to see the water wheel working. We will return.

Booked a table in advance. The food was very nice and fresh. Service was good and friendly. There is a small free public car park across the road (behind red telephone box).There are a set of stairs to get up to the tea room.

A delightful little place, booking ahead is a must, delicious food in generous portion sizes, and the most wonderful cakes for dessert!

Truly wonderful, cosy little place with the most friendly staff! The lady here actually rescued us from being locked inside our hotel over the road. Naturally, we ordered a pot of tea, a variety of lush scones, soup and a quiche! All delicious and well priced. What a gem.

Just posting to warn people that the opening times online are not accurate - but don’t want to give a low star rating, as I did not get to enjoy the afternoon tea that I and my overseas visitors were looking forward to. According to Google, the tea shop opened today after Christmas, and we drove quite a long way to see the water mill and treat our visitors to afternoon tea. The shop was closed at 1.30 when we arrived, although according to Google, it was actually open. We were so disappointed
