My partner and I found an injured seagull outside our flats. We live directly next to a busy road, so it was pretty apparent they were likely hit by a car. We went outside and caught them in a box, then called another vets for advice on keeping him overnight until we could get him somewhere in the morning. Although his wing seemed quite injured, he was still eating and drinking. We ended up coming to this place. He was taken to the back to be looked at. After around 10 minutes, his empty cage was returned to us and we were told he was euthanised. My partner asked why they didn't ask us/tell us first and they said its because they are busy with emergencies. This is not an issue of a lack of resources, this is sickening negligence. If you cannot give each patient adequate care and attention, don't let them book. I understand it was probably assumed we did not care about him, but this is still no excuse to show such carelessness to us and him. How well could he have been looked at in such a short amount of time?It just looked like his wing was broken - there was a little dried blood - but otherwise he seemed completely fine. I understand that recovery for birds can be tough, but they should have come and talked to us first before killing the bird without our consent. I believe that seagull had a good chance if given proper care.Do not take your animals here. They might just kill them because they're busy.
