Nice people, very accommodating and friendly. 10/10 for empathy and helpfulness. Not very impressed with the property. Car park is tucked away behind and we missed the signs due to arriving at rush hour. But once checked in, all was OK.The room (12) was dated, tired, and worn-out, but clean and well prepared. It was very noisy when we opened all the windows because it was unbearably hot. Not from vehicles but other guests having a good time. No air conditioning!!!The pub needs a refit! Greasy carpet turns my stomach. Not in any way acceptable. Redecoration needed.Staff are lovely, they tried really hard and effectively improved my rating which would have been a 1 at best. The cost didn't really reflect the experience. We paid quality hotels prices for a very down market experience.

One of my team slept on the wrong bed in a room that contained many beds. The hotel had not communicated with my team that they were unable to sleep on those particular beds. So lit was completely unnecessary to have shouted at them and then to have called me to shout at me. (She called me repeatedly for over 20 minutes while I was occupied with my kids)The second night that my team stayed- after working an extremely long shift at a local wedding- The manager had taken their sheets away from them!!!They were so tired, they slept anyway, but it was the worst hotel experience they’ve ever had.Additionally, she also shouted at us for one of my staff members plugging in his electric car. He offered to pay the full amount, but I suppose the manager should start getting used to the fact that electric cars exist?Deeply unprofessional manager, a terrible stay. Do not recommend at all -avoid!

Suited us for a ‘stop and drop’. Clean rooms, comfy bed and a good hot shower.Bit of noise and light but nothing excessive.

Stayed here as my daughter booked it for us as a Christmas present. She requested a disabled room and on arrival we got an attic room. Stairs steep no lights and as a sufferer of MS my husband had to almost carry me. Bed was so uncomfortable it was about 2inches off the floor. Minimal coffees left out, had to ask for more which appeared to be a problem. This room is not shown on website and was totally unsuitable for a disabled person. Staff very unwelcoming hardly spoke. No teaspoon for coffees and don’t serve breakfast. So my daughter paid £190 for 2 nights just for an uncomfortable low bed with two flights of stairs. Shower was the only good thing. My husband was ready to come home after first uncomfortable night but felt bad as our daughter had already paid. This place really isn’t fit for over night stays and staff need a course in manners. Overall a disappointing stay and I would never recommend.

Rooms basic, but clean. Great for just a sleep or if using as a base. No breakfast available when I stayed, just wish advertised at time of booking. Don't know much about area. but can say it was cute, clean and everyone was friendly.

I arrived after cycling part of the Dartmoor Way, to stay overnight before continuing the ride. There was only one member of staff on duty, and the bar, at 4, was very busy. The Menu was very limited, and no breakfast service was available. The room, although next to the car park, was quiet, but the single bed, made up in the twin room, was on its last legs, with a bolt fallen out on the carpet. It was central to the town, the facilites overall were adequate, and I found a nice cafe nearby for breakfast, before setting off on the ride.

Stayed in a king size room which was overall way overpriced for the quality provided, probably wouldn't stay againBad:- Price is meant to include full English breakfast but they don't serve breakfast at all- Main light didn't work in the room- Dried urine on the toilet hadn't been cleaned from previous guest- Dirty carpet, needed a vacuum- Website says lawned beer garden, actually gravel garden next to the car park- Room barely had any toilet roll left, had to ask for more when we checked in- Bed not that comfy- Room and bathroom generally a bit run down- My brother stayed in a family room which didn't provide a mattress for the child's cotGood- Allowed us an early check in, useful for storing our luggage (maybe they rushed the cleaning because of this?)- Staff seemed friendly

Stumbled over this place by chance, while house hunting! What a find! Great, traditional pub, dog friendly, with a games room. We have been in a few times, on the weekend, for chips and drinks with kids, but yesterday we went in for burgers and chips, midweek, just adults. The food was amazing and good value. The service matched and the man behind the bar was very attentive to us, our dog and all of the customers. Can’t comment on accommodation, but for a pub with food, this is a gem!

Noone offered to take my bags up a steep staircase. Room lacked shampoo and bath mat. Lampshade was broken and no breakfast, no even continental. Won't be staying again.
