Had a cut and style with John today. Best haircut I’ve had. Amazing service, atmosphere and price. I would recommend 10/10

I have been going to this place for the past 12 years now, never had a problem until the lst three visits. Staff has been changed, owner careless, no one to complain to and if you do nothing done. My 1st bad experience started with a funny hair cut each side had a lenght! Second experience was all my grey hair was still showing so def roots werent done although i have mentioned that myMain concern is my grey hair and thats why i went to get my hair done and i ended up after 4hrs being there to dey and straighten my own hair as they were busy!. Phoned back the owner complained! He totally forgot who i am and said he sees 100 of customers a day. The third visit i came back home with pink roots and darker hair athough my request to go lighter. This time i wont be going back as it is clear that the owner care about renting out the chairs to whoever wants to work not caring howProf and how good at their job are! I would rather fo somewhere pay a little bit extra and get a my hair done properly instead of stressing and spending hours in there. I am so sorry for writing this review but i am very disappointed when i gave three chances.

Booked for half head highlights and a cut, turned up for my appointment to find them locking up. Re-arranged appointment a further three times only for it to be repeatedly cancelled, including one time turning up to the salon to be told the appointment had been cancelled and I should have been called. Rearranged yet again to come back, but after sitting for more than an hour not being seen to I had to leave and get a refund from The 5pm booking website. Really bad management- this occurred over a 4 week period with 4 cancellations, turning up in person 3 times. Wouldn’t recommend.

If you're looking at other hairdressers, even if they appear to have a slight edge in terms of star rating - trust me, THIS is the place to pick, and it's well worth travelling for too. From the outside, it's easy to walk past because at a quick glance it could be mistaken for a café, but that just makes it all the more of a hidden gem, flooded with natural light.Once inside, it's essentially your conventional salon, but the lighting is so, so much better than the typical aggressively bright florescent spotlights most salons unfortunately go for - I hadn't even realised how much of a difference that made to the experience until I realised I wasn't squinting uncomfortably or feeling self-conscious about every wrinkle like I normally do in the chair! Speaking of which, the chairs were really comfortable, my feet could reach the floor, and I had plenty of room. There was music playing, but not too loudly, and it was all classics that most people would be hard-pressed to object to - so, none of the eerie silence punctuated by hair dryers, nor the chaotic racket of radio stations and news and equipment competing with chatting that I've found in other places. One of the reasons Scvlptvr isn't full of noise is that they don't overcrowd their space - there were just three members of staff when I was in, which, assuming it's usual level, was ideal for the space because you could hold conversation easily and not feel wedged in like a sardine assembly! As someone who always dreaded hairdressing appointments for the overwhelming atmosphere of most salons these days, it was a breath of fresh air. Finally, the staff - phenomenal. In previous places, there's always been that moment where you get asked about what your Hair Regime is, and honestly - I don't have one. Which made every previous hairdresser look at me like I'd just used a towel to blow my nose, but here, it was just accepted, and I even got helpful tips on how to get volume and texture if you're not somebody who owns even a hair dryer. Additionally, I actually got the haircut I asked for, but an even more flattering version! I felt Morgan really listened to what I wanted, and was patient and helpful even when I wasn't sure what I wanted! They really do seem to care about getting your hair looking exactly how you'd like, rather than shovelling as many people through the door and out again as fast as they can.If you want a boutique experience on a modest budget, I cannot recommend this place enough. Classically understated but will over deliver on your expectations, I have FINALLY found my go-to salon.

Received great service from John at Sculptor. He really took his time when cutting my hair and the end result was brilliant. He was able to give me good tips on styling my hair as well. Left the salon feeling a million times better. Would highly recommend.

It is not easy finding a good, professional hairdresser in Glasgow, and the few good ones do not come cheap. In this salon, prices are very low but there is good reason why. First thing you will probably notice how dirty everything is inside, it is shocking. Second, the colouring products will ruin your hair (they never told me what brand products they use, even after I asked, and they never did allergy tests). As for the cut, if you care about your hair and how you look, chances are you will want to have it cut more expertly somewhere else. I would advise using this salon only if you cannot afford more expensive, have no problem having your hair styled in an unclean place, if you need a very simple cut and you do not need colouration. Amanda is nice young woman who freelances in this salon and does a decent job. I would avoid the owner who does not listen to what one says and seems to have 'mood fluctuations'. Last but not least: they only accept cash.
