Lovely pub and court yard. Food not so great under cooked sausage and crunchy cabbage.

What a find on my way to rip off Bristol Airport. Didn't look much from the front but a different story at the entrance at the back. Where to start :- came in through a huge beer garden with bench seating on grass then lots of wooden tables and chairs on chippings with lighting crisscrossing the whole area. A dining/seated area looked into the garden with huge windows making it a bit of a conservatory. Inside a bar and a lounge with comfortable seating with an olde worlde feel. A smart restaurant with a tasty menu was also available. It was mid afternoon when we called and we had a club sandwich and a tapas plate and it was delicious. As it is also a hotel I shall certainly be looking to take a room there if I have an early flight or lunch if it's in the afternoon. Highly recommended , it's definitely a place I intend to visit again. The staff were helpful and the service was great.

Fabulous steak and ale pie. The meat was so tender and delicious. The pastry had great taste - although too hard for a fork but ok with fingers. Vegetables SO fresh. Bar and serving staff very engaging and a really nice decorated pub. We didn't stay so cannot comment on rooms. Lovely garden space for outside eating or drinking.

We called in to the George at Backwell for a light lunch, taking advantage of their offer of mains and a drink for £11. Considering these inflationary times, we thought it good value given the quality of food and service. The decor and ambience were spot on. The pub also has an attractive beer garden and a good sized car park.

Booked at short notice as very close to the airport and fantastically close to M5 for homeward journey. Lovely greeting from staff showed around by the lovely landlady. Rooms were very comfortable bathroom was just gorgeous and after a week away with only a shower to be greeted by such a sumptuous bath was a blissful way to soak away the long flight . We had a very lovely steak again made welcome by the staff a very positive experience. Breakfast was a help yourself continental style but very adequate. Whilst at breakfast spoke with another customer who informed me this lovely young couple are new to the pub and have plans to introduce a full breakfast menu in due course. I look forward t staying here again when I next use Bristol airport

Lovely Sunday roast. The staff are super lovely and accommodating and the food was tasty. Portions seemed on the small side but were actually perfect with an extra side and pudding. They were packed so definitely book ahead of time.

We arrived behind schedule, and were in a hurry to check in and get a taxi to our event. We asked for a number and were given one for a company who no longer works evenings! Had to drive ourselves in the end. When we got back later that evening the pub was in darkness with barely any illumination to see us back to our room. The room itself was very unclean, a covering of dust on every surface. Was like the room hadn’t been used in a while and certainly not cleaned before our arrival. There were spiders and cobwebs everywhere. The bathroom was dirty with mould in the shower. The breakfast was also disappointing. The hot water for tea took 20 minutes to heat up and there was no coffee ready for the guests. Didn’t see any staff in the morning to let them know about the issue. For £112 for one night we were very disappointed and won’t be returning.
