A little gem of a bookshop, one of the best I’ve ever visited. Beautifully presented and curated, not just full of the latest best-sellers; the owner is obviously passionate about books. I only wish I lived locally; I’d be in here all the time if I did!

This shop draws you in and convinces you to linger.Upstairs in the quiet sanctuary you can squirrel away in a corner and indulge in a moment of stillness with your new find in the relaxed sitting room-like ambiance. If you are more convivial it is impossible to resist joining the conversation which flows effortlessly between patrons and shopkeeper; punctuated by bursts of laughter and the exchange of book recommendations flying forth from everyone involved with the excited clamouring of knowing you have found your people. Be warned, you will leave with a list of exciting new books you want to read and a warm feeling right in your soul.

Harbour Books is a sparkling gem of an independent bookshop, that we are super lucky to have in our town. They have an incredible selection of books, for all ages. The staff are always approachable, friendly and efficient & books that can’t be found can be ordered.There’s a beautiful space upstairs to read and contemplate, which is comfortable and warm. I love Harbour Books, go visit and enjoy perusing.

We're so lucky to have this lovely local book shop in Whitstable. The team always have such great recommendations, not only for gifts, but also what I might enjoy reading next myself. They will also happily order anything they haven't got in, which my kids really love.

This shop is the best curation of books I’ve ever seen. I always come out loaded with presents for adults and children. It’s a beautiful shop on a gorgeous high street - tbh I go to Whitstable especially to visit this shop! What an absolute gem. It’s introduced me to so many authors I now love. The author events are also fantastic and have a really intimate air. I made a special visit to see Katherine May and Daisy Buchanan. Stunning line up. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect for Xmas presents. And they run an amazing 2nd hand books for kids event every year. Wish every high street had a shop like this one.

This is a total gem of a bookshop. A wonderful selection, everything from bestsellers to classics but also a fabulous curation of titles - those books that I didn’t know about but have become brilliant friends. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly and Clare, who owns the shop, appears to have read everything known to man and gives absolutely spot on gifting advice. The shop is filled with thoughtful, careful choices and there is often a special author event happening in the beautiful, cosy room upstairs. Harbour books is just everything a bookshop should aspire to be. Wonderful.

The best independent bookstore I've visited in a long time! Three floors of curated books, with many quirky editions.Very friendly and welcoming staff, who helped find a book for me without much hassle. Just a shame it's not my local book shop because I'd be buying all my books from here. Definitely recommend if you're a bookworm visiting Whitstable

Had been meaning to visit here for a while but hadn't had the time, safe to say it was worth the wait. Such a beautiful bookshop with a welcoming energy, the shopkeeper was lovely and clearly very passionate about literature. I opted to buying one of the many books she recommended and am loving it so far!
