Very disappointing visit. Food is overpriced. Staff inattentive. Had to find a member of staff three different times for drinks/menus/food order. Not overly busy. If charging absolute premium need to do better with food and service, first time ever asked for service charge to be taken off.

Called for Lunch It was terrific. Food very very good a great range on the menu covering seasonal to the ambitious. Very tasty & not too busy. Service was excellent Much evidence of ongoing training. Well managed. 10 out of 10.

I visited the Longlands Hotel for lunch, so am unaware of the rooms. It was remarkably busy for a Thursday lunchtime. The restaurant/bar areas were bright, clean and very well presented. The staff were pleasant and attentive. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced.

Checking in was quick and very friendly nice pleasant staff, shown to our room very nice spacious room and large bathroom. Nice selection of shampoo, shower gel and conditioners, great tray with all manner of different teas and coffees, sugars and sweeteners plus a lovely touch of a mini toffee crisp and wafer bar. Had dinner in the restaurant and everything was perfect one of the best surf and turf I've had the steak was cooked to perfection medium rare which I nearly always get over done this chef knows his stuff. Will definitely return great stay all round thank you.

Enjoyed the stay. There for a wedding reception.Bar service was a little slow and patchy; the bar is double sided and could benefit with staff being allocated a side to serve as all the staff seemed to be on the opposite side when I needed them. Breakfast was good and service warm and friendly. Would stay again.

We had a lovely stay here, the cottage we had was a very good size with everything you could need, the only reason for the 4 stars is some of the furniture was a little tied I.e. you couldn't sit on the sofa for more than 30 minutes as it the cushions had deteriorated, really though i rate it 4.5 but can't, so I had to give it 4. The food in the pub is lovely, service was good until it got busy then it slowed but its worth a visit. The hotel is about 30 minutes from Lake Windermere and the tourist train station, so all in a good stay. Update some fo the furniture and its an easy 5 stars.

We have eaten in Longlands multiple times and it has always been ok. Until last Saturday when we had lunch. When we complained about the lasagne which was extremely dry we were told that's the way it is and another portion would be the same. Chose to pick something else, burger and chips which unfortunately was nearly as over cooked as the lasagne. Waiting on staff were lovely as always!!! We are regular visitors and feel this has been a gradual decline over the past few months. What's going wrong Longlands?????!!!!

Visited for a free fireworks display on November 5, 2023. The fireworks we great, no complaints there other than the display starting at 7.04pm when it had been advertised as a 7.30pm start, but the service in the bar was absolutely atrocious. We arrived early (lucky for us given the unscheduled early start of the fireworks) in the hopes of getting a drink before the display, and getting a feel for the bar and place in general as we're both relatively new to the area. Walked into the bar and felt incredibly uncomfortable as nearly everyone turned to stare at us. It was our first time there, and it felt like the people there didn't want anyone unknown in their space. The bar was busy on the side we were at, but it wasn't particularly packed. We stood at one end waiting to be served, but after around 10 minutes the bartender still didn't come over to us, despite us trying to catch his eye. So we decided to move to the other end of the bar, where the bartender was actively serving someone. We stood in an empty spot beside a girl who was being handed her drinks... only for the bartender to go back to the side that we'd just left without so much as acknowledging our presence. He then served several people who arrived at the bar after we had, and took the time to sort out glasses right in front of us - again without even acknowledging us. While he was pulling a pint for another customer he looked at me from the corner of his eye, locked eyes with me... then continued to ignore us and serve yet another person. By this point we'd been standing there for around 20 minutes. A second bartender came out and started serving people. I caught his attention after he'd helped a few other people, asked if we could be served because we'd waited a long time, and he looked absolutely bemused then turned to someone else. By the time he turned to actually serve us, my partner had had enough so we left.Absolutely atrocious service, and a really uncomfortable atmosphere that was anything but welcoming. It would seem the Longlands caters for regulars only, and doesn't want the business of anyone new. Even though the place looks great from what we saw, I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Enjoyed several visits whilst on holiday nearby. Very welcoming for the public to dine/drink. Very good food experience. Warm atmosphere both bar and restaurant. Will return.
