New Southgate Surgery

I've been at New Southgate surgery for a number of years. I find everyone welcoming. The reception staff are calm and polite considering the volume of calls they must screen on a daily basis. I've always felt very well cared for. There are times I've gone for bloods doing elsewhere due to wait time, but considering it's minutes away from the practice that's not an issue, just a necessary process. I'm thankful and grateful for the sacrifices the health staff make to do what they do, I'm sure it's well above and beyond usual working hours!!!!

I had knee injections yesterday 20/4/2023 administered by Dr Ladak and two nurses. I was explained in full the procedure. Both knees are arthritic thanks to Rugby, and are very painful. Injections were suggested by the surgery Physiotherapist. Dr Ladak performed the injections for me without pain and expertly..result today..great improvement Many thanks to you all.

I had been with this doctors since I was born however I highly recommend an alternative practice. Some of the reception/admin staff are the most rude, unhelpful and condescending individuals I've come across. Referrals are not made after months and when chased up, you are offered a 'routine appointment' weeks in advance for an urgent issue. Complaints are not dealt with seriously and outcomes are blamed on COVID-19.

Wouldn't even give 1 star. waited 2 weeks for an appointment because they were 'apparently all booked'. On the date 16/11/22 of the appointment the doctor didn't even ring me. Been trying to get through ever since and it just rings through. Absolutely shocking service, slack and couldn't care less. What do these receptionists even do?!

All staff are caring and kind, waiting times are vastly improved, the telephone system is much better at informing you how many calls before yours.We’ve been with this practice over 30+ years and would recommend it.

By far the best GP practice I have ever been in. Every GP I have seen has been excellent in all ways and I have never left an appointment feeling as though I've not been taken seriously or listened to nor without a plan of action for why I am there. The doctors are extremely thorough in investigations to rule absolutely everything out even the most unlikely causes. I have often put my repeat prescription in late online and had it sent to the pharmacy within hours of making the request even with custom requests for other medications. I have also had medication sent to the pharmacy by doctors on Saturdays when the practice is closed. They really go above and beyond I cannot recommend this practice enough; when I was due to move I was worried I wouldn't find a property in the catchment area and I would have to move practice. I have been in several practices over Yorkshire and Lancashire and I've never found one as good as this.I also find most of the receptionists to be really caring and happy to help you as much as they can. Including one recognising me and asking how I am doing after I had a period of extreme illness and had many appointments. I've seen them be blamed and complained at for things beyond their control constantly but it never affects how they are interacting with the patients.I have had many pleasant interactions with the practice manager also when I have needed help beyond the remit of the receptionists.Great phlebotomists also, I barely feel it when they take my blood.

Been at this doctors for as long as I can remember. Countless bad experiences over the last 5 years.Lost my bloods on a number of occasions. Unpleasant & unhelpful reception staff. Passed from pillar to post with no real help or guidance. Feel entirely dismissed by this GP. Referrals not followed through, total lack of communication throughout the surgery, endless mistakes and misinformation from doctors/reception. Each person I speak to says a different thing & blames the misinformation on someone else. Looking to change surgery ASAP. Could not be more disappointed by the care here. The only good thing about the surgery is Jodie the Phlebotomist who is so kind and compassionate.

I have been at this surgery for nearly 20 years and have never had a problem with them! I’ve always managed to easily get appointments whether it’s in the same week - for non urgent or same day if urgent! Today has been no different. I called at 8:30 for a same day appointment, was only on hold 5 minutes. Had a doctor call me back half an hour later and got antibiotics prescribed to collect at the pharmacy today! I can’t fault them! Even through the height of the pandemic, I had to see them and was able to get an appointment AND a referral to hospital for a scan which was super quick! The staff have always been friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! In my own healthcare job, all I hear is patients talk about their bad experiences with their GP practice. Well there’s no complaints coming out of THIS patient! Thanks for the excellent service you provide! You all do a fantastic job!!
