My son, who is an adult with autism and a learning disability, has recently completed the level 1-3 cycling course. This has been achieved over a couple of years through a combination of group training and one-to-ones with Bruce. Throughout, Bruce has been patient, encouraging and determined and it's an absolute joy to see how my son's competence and confidence have blossomed as a result. He can now get on his bike and go anywhere and tells me that he loves the freedom this gives him. So pleased for him, and I highly recommend Bike for Life!

I took the 3 day intro bike course - excellent, I highly recommend it. Bruce, the instructor, was clear and patient. Each of the three days are pitched correctly and have now given me (a novice at bike mechanics!) the confidence to learn more and go on longer rides. Thanks to Bike for Live.

Absolutely excellent service. We ran 4 days of Dr Bike sessions for students and staff and they were brilliant. The feedback we've received has been incredibly positive and we will definitely be hosting more sessions. Thanks Bruce!

Very helpful course! I was absolutely clueless before attending but having completed levels 1 and 2 I now feel confident I could get myself out of any sticky situation whilst out cycling and can confidently do basic mechanics. Thank you! I will be back for level 3!

Excellent course for getting your child road-ready on their bike. Really valuable information about how traffic works, blindspots and other essential dangers to look out for. My son’s cycling skills have improved too and his confidence is sky high. Highly recommend.

Having just completed the full five days of this cycle maintence course i must say i can't recommend it enough. The first 3 days cover the essentials that any cyclist would benefit from and also highlights some clever little tricks to help those who might already have a basic understanding. Learning that technique saves you having to be ultra strong. Days 4 and 5, if you choose to go on to them, are more technical and cover things like brake bleeding and wheel building. Might save me a fortune someday and i found it fascinating. All very light hearted and fun to learn.

I completed Bike for Life’s Level 1-3 cycling course with Bruce. Coming into this, I wasn’t a confident cyclist and hadn’t cycled much on roads before, let alone busy ones. By the end, I was cycling in three lane traffic, signalling, u-turning and turning into side roads with no problem. Bruce was a great instructor - patient, took time to explain everything properly and made me feel safe on the roads. I liked how the course had clear progression points and what you learnt in the first level was applicable to your cycling in level 3. Highly recommend.

Bruce is a star. Very friendly and positive and unflappable when things don't go to plan. I have just completed level 3 (three Saturdays) and apart from the professional attention to detail, methodical learning programme and well equipped workspace the other students I was attending with were a pleasure. I really did the course in order to progress to the level 4 pro tech qualification and thought I might know it all already but far from it, I took away several tips from each session and it improved my techniques when working on clients bikes almost immediately. Highly recommended. I'm looking forward to Level 4

Bruce and Derek from Bike for Life spent 4 hours at BHASVIC, servicing bikes of sixteen staff. They were very knowledgable, competent and helpful. Comments included ‘Derek is great and gave me some very useful tips’ ‘my bike is very happy’. A colleague and I plan to go to one of their bike maintenance courses.

I can only highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to brush up on their bicycle mechanics knowledge. Bruce is a very knowledgeable teacher and the course guides you through every step there is to know. Whether you are a novice or an engineer, you will learn skills on this course, which you will never forget, with the bonus of potentially gaining a qualification. All in all, a very professionally set up, enjoyable experience suited to anyone.
