We are visiting from NZ and needed some outdoor gear. This shop was let down badly by its staff. There were 4 staff chatting together on the down stairs counter while upstairs customers waited for assistance with footwear purchases. In the end I had to ask a staff member to go upstairs to help. He reluctantly agreed. His contribution was to answer some very basic questions then he just watched on as other customers had to work things out for themselves. Really disappointing experience.

Normally I find staff in Cotswold to be experienced and with good product knowledge - but didn't see that in this store on my recent visit to this store. In addition the availability of shoes was poor, I'm a UK size 9, so not an unusual size, but very little available. I have a feeling this store doesn't have a huge storeroom, so doesn't carry much stock. I think I'll visit a different branch in the future.

Some decent choices of outdoor clothing and equipment, however if you need help from the staff you have to beg for it.Standing next to the till trying to approach any staff members and left ignored by few of them.I knew what I wanted just needed someone from them to get it for me had to explain twice which item. Then he took his time before helping, these people either need a new job or better trainingDisappointing experience

I had a bad experience at this store on June 22 at lunch time.My three week old Primus stove developed a gas leak which resulted in random instantaneous bursts of flame during use that would reach 10 inches above the actual stove. Luckily no one was injured.I took the stove back hoping to get an exchange but was shocked by the arrogance and lack of knowledge of the store clerk who said he was an assistant manager that day. He could not verify whether what I was claiming was true so therefore he’d have to send the stove back for inspection - He said. I asked him to hook it up to gas to see the explosion like flame and gas smell of gas leak that comes from the stove for himself which he declined. He proceeded to argue with me that since this is an issue he can’t replicate, he would have to send my stove off for inspection. He argued with me for about 5-10 minutes at which point I packed my stove up and left. I drove to Snow+Rock at Bluewater, where I’ve had positive experience with the store employees in the past. The employee at that store was knowledgeable, understanding and has immediately exchanged my faulty stove for a brand new one which did restore my faith in the decency of this brand but left a bitter feeling considering I had to drive out of London to have this done. This company needs to educate its employees on customer service and store policy that clearly does not mention anything about sending new products off for inspections, especially in It’s Piccadilly store. For now I’ll be taking my business to Ellis Bringham and the Brokedown Palace as I will not spend my hard earn money on gear that the company that sells them won’t stand by.

Great store with good selection of clothes and equipment, small climbing area but has the basics

Great shop with extensive collection and amazingly helpful staff. We went last week to get some hiking gear and the staff was very helpful that made the shopping easy. Additionally we were late and slightly after closing time but they were welcoming and waited patiently for choosing the gear. Would surely recommend

Incredibly poor selection of women’s outdoor gear: if you google ‘biggest outdoor sports shop in London’ this is what comes up. There wasn’t even a single pair of convertible women’s trousers, which is a very basic piece of gear. So disappointing. There is also only one changing room in the store: there are more upstairs, but the staff aren’t allowed to unlock them. I don’t blame the staff at all, but this shop is an absolute joke.

I was searching for a specific brand backpacks like fjällräven. When I browsed into this store, happy to see they have a good collection of fjällräven backpacks and luckily the color which I was looking for.As this store is situated close to Piccadilly Station and right near bus stop, it was an easy find. This store also has a decent collection of North face jackets and hoodies if anyone is interested, although you might struggle to get your sizes as I did!
