Farnham Estate Spa and Golf Resort, Cavan

Beautiful location and rooms. Didn't use spa. Overall the public areas, services and food are definitely not whatyou would expectfrom the website promotion. Unfortunately the unfriendly welcome upon arrival did colour the experience. But the food and dining areas are poor. A few staff members stood out their lovely manner and efforts. Came here for my sisters baby shower fab food . As we was leaving me and my partner who has a bad leg and me with a baby this lovely woman by the name of Mary-Ann who we seen at reception dropped us to are car great chats amazing service by this woman would come back just because of Mary Ann

Was there with my partner on 15 Oct 2023, amazing spa facilities, we loved the leisure rooms as well, enjoyed drinking our coffee after spa treatment. Dinner was amazing, and the room was beautiful. Enjoyed the venue.We truly enjoyed our stay here.

This is my second time here. This time I booked it for a group of 10 for a bridal party. The service and staff is what makes this place special, from the booking process, to the friendly check in staff and the wonderful service we got over dinner. On top of that, the place is excellent value for money, the set menu came with sides and they provided a glass of Prosecco after dinner for our group which was a really nice touch. After dinner, we went down to the bar and there was a wonderful lady on the mic with a guitar, she created such a buzz in the room. My only comment is the bar is split into few diff areas and we could only find seats in the back so couldn’t hear the music here. But we decided to stand at the bar as the atmosphere was great. Previously we stayed in the house rooms which was stunning, this time we stayed in their other rooms part of the wider hotel and I was impressed by how big they were. Will definitely be back, thank you for a wonderful stay.

Overall, our stay at the hotel was pleasant. On arrival, Orla at the reception was friendly and had a good sense of humor.The food at Maxwell's Grill on our first night was standard, but our waiter Jacob provided excellent service, which made the dinner experience better.However, the second night at Cedar Rooms was the main highlight of our stay with excellent food, although it came at an extra €20 (compared to booking at Maxwell's) for a set menu at €70 per person, it was definitely worth the extra money. Our waitress, Emma, was attentive, knowledgeable and provided great service.The spa and pool facilities were very enjoyable and not too crowded during the week. However, there were a couple of disappointments with one bubble feature in the indoor pool and two spa features being out of order during our stay.On the downside, there was a slight smell of sewer or drainage system in our room, possibly due to ongoing spa work nearby. Nonetheless, it wasn't overpowering.Another con was the drilling etc at 9am, however this may be difficult to mitigate, but it would have been nice to be flagged during checking in. Other hotels I have stayed in would have mentioned this during check-in and either gave a discount, or offered an alternative room to stay in.Overall, it was a beautiful stay with a few minor hiccups, we left re-energised and pleased with our stay.

I went to The Farnham Estate for a family wedding and stayed for two nights. From the moment we arrived any staff member I interacted with was so friendly and accommodating. The wedding venue was absolutely astounding from the toilets to the outdoor area to the wedding room. The rooms were gorgeous, spacious, spotless clean and the beds were the comfiest I've slept on in a hotel (I always find it hard to sleep in hotels). The whole experience was 10/10 and I already can't wait to come back and stay.

Okay there's lots to love, some to dislike and one or two to hate. The best part of this hotel is the spa and pool, indoor/outdoor heated and really quite lovely facility. The room was quite nice, well equipped and as good as I've seen in 5 star hotels recently. The setting is lovely and for €30, 9 holes of golf is well priced.To the bad now. The service isn't great. I think the staff are simply young and inexperienced and have to be told to do things twice to get anything done. Waiting 40min for chicken wings, having to correct food orders, things need to improve there.For one dreadful thing, the cost of certain items. €7.80 for a pint of beer is beyond anything I've seen before. It's criminal to charge so much, literally no need. This goes for any alcohol on premises, massively overpriced. Especially when golf is at a reasonable rate, can't understand the greed here.Would return but I'd eat and drink in Cavan town, recommend Shades personally.

We recently stayed here and it was perfect from start to finish. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Staff were warm and friendly.Spa area was relaxing and peaceful.Breakfast was 10/10.Thankyou.

Very enjoyable stay at farnham in October 23. We've stayed here a few times and this stay was by far the most enjoyable. Overall the rooms are of a high standard, the grounds and walks are great for those who enjoy getting out into nature and the staff are attentive.We dined in the cedar room and we were not disappointed, a really enjoyable dining experience.Our negatives were that the radiator in our room was set low, but I'm sure that could have been rectified had we informed reception.We also spent a few hours in the spa/pool area and this is one of the best we have experienced in ireland. The treatments have gotten more expensive which is hard to justify but the overall spa experience is excellent.Cleanliness standards are good throughout and it's these details that make the difference.Can't say I was impressed with the live music on offer in the bar, it was country music, but I accept that for many this is what they want to hear, but it's like nails on a chalkboard for me! Dont let that put you off, a Overnight in farnham is money well spent.

My partner and I spent a couple of days here following a wedding nearby. Very relaxing with nice surroundings. I also had a massage by Urszula. She was wonderful and can out throughly relaxed! She also explained to me where my muscle tensions were, so I can move on and focus on these areas. Thank you!
