Mackinnon’s Cave
Off the beaten path and only accessible when the tide is out, but well worth the effort.

Mackinnon’s Cave
Really fun hike but be prepared to slip and nearly die a couple of times. Also, be sure to walk across the beach to leave, unless the tide has begun coming in, in which case you have to brave the near-vertical slopes leading above the cave. Good luck, and if you see a MacKinnon give them your best!

BEFORE VISIT THE CAVE YOU NEED TO CHECK THE LOW TIDE, THE BEST MODE IS TO ASK IN VISITSCOTLAND VISITOR CENTRE IN CRAIGNURE. The last part of the path is not safe(on the hill before the waterfall), You can use the rocks near to sea (like my wife used in the pics). They are natural stairs until the right side of the waterfall, here, after the corner, you can find the Cave =)(

The walks nice but the cave is stoory and full of pigeons

Mackinnon’s Cave
A sense of achievement when reaching the cave after playing dodge the bull in the field, scrabbling down steep cliffs and risking life and limb clambering over boulders and rocks. Not for the faint hearted!

Mackinnon’s Cave
A short but not easy walk across boggy ground followed by a scramble along a boulder strewn beach to reach a beautiful cave next to an impressive waterfall.

Mackinnon’s Cave
A hike that was exactly what we were looking for. Almost no one there and a hidden gem. *Note: not a typical hike, rock scramble at the end is extremely dangerous when wet. Expert hikers only. Follow the directions at the carpark because it is a working farm you have to walk through. Jump the correct fence (not the one with the bull warning sign) and follow the fence line through the mud. You will finally see another sign at the cliffs edge to head down. It rains every 30 minutes so come prepared. The cave is big and a flashlight is needed to see the back section but nothing much in there. Low tide give or take a couple hours is the only time to go.

Mackinnon’s Cave
Worth a visit, but allow 2-3 hours. Check tide times carefully - cave only accessible at low tide and two hours either side. Easy walking till final section - scramble across boulders, potentially slippery. Cave spectacular, bring powerful torch. Phone torch's light seemed to be swallowed by the darkness!
