Recently, I said excuse me" to a security officer so that I could leave the store and keep as much distance as possible between him and myself. He was standing in the entrance/exit

Very busy place! If you just want petrol go to the pay at pump otherwise you'll be there forever! Staff ok but talk amongst themselves rather than to customers. However, always well stocked & open 24/7.

It closes at random time’s extremely unreliable, it says online it’s open every night but for the past 3 nights it has been closed and even before you often find it closed, they leave notices on the door such as, fridge is down, staff shortage, till upgrade, there is always something at night…

Tescos has always been my choice of shop, even when the sainsburys was built across the road.Today, I decided to fight through my agoraphobia and visit the shop again, and unfortunately I found myself having a panic attack in the store. I was kneeling down, hyperventilating, and very quickly a member of staff (the blonde straight haired woman, sorry I don't remember names!), she came and sat with me and put her hand on my shoulder, which was totally fine with me. I explained my panic attack, and she calmly spoke to me and asked if I could try watch my breathing. She offered me a seat out back, but I refused as I just wanted to get back home. She then asked another member of staff to serve me, who happily did so quickly, I was thankful there wasn't a queue, and grateful that they'd help me in this way. They were all very supportive and kind, and didn't make me feel bad for my attack. I love the staff in this shop, they deserve all the praise they get.

A busy local store with a petrol station. Some parking spaces. After the latest refit they now have pay at the pump too. There is nearly always a queue here because it's that busy. The staff are warm and friendly and willing to help you find items around the store. Bargains can be had with the end of day sale and this will save you some extra money..

Massive rant coming so apologies in advance. Do not shop at Tesco’s Southchurch road.To say I am fuming is an understatement.I have never been spoken to by a someone in the way have by a member of Tesco’s staff at Southchurch road in the way I have today.Popped in to get some shopping after a long day at football and paid by contactless.Lady behind the counter said it hadn’t gone through, so we paid with another card. Got back into the car and checked and it’s now showing as pending.Went back in to get it put back on our account or a copy receipt to say the transaction had gone through, only to be told that it hasn’t gone through.I asked for confirmation from the declined transaction even though it didn’t decline it and the lady who served us said the till kept resetting!!!!!!Then someone else joined in and finally the team leader who said the same thing. They were not rude and as I’ve worked in retail I know what it can be like to deal with an unhappy customer and yes, I don’t take things like this lying down or just agree if I think their in the wrong. The reason for the real rant is that this dark haired guy with glasses on the end till decided to butt in to the discussion whilst he was still serving someone else and give his two penny worths.Hubby politely said did I ask for your opinion and to keep out the conversation. He then carried on being very sanctimonious, arrogant and rude. Yes I did then get a little bit cross but I think I then had the right to do this and I will point out no bad language was used.He then said “We are what’s wrong with Southend at the moment and that would explain why this town has gone down hill “in front of a queue of 15-20 people.I replied where do you live and he said Thorpe Bay (no offence to anyone who lives in Thorpe Bay) but this had no relevance on our complaint or the conversation. He then called myself and my husband weird in front of the whole shop and told me to get out as I was upsetting his customer.Surprisingly he wouldn’t give his name when we said we were making a formal complaint. The team leader did eventually apologise and gave us the managers name , who is in to tomorrow. My points areThis person should not be customer facing. He obviously doesn’t know us as people and to say we are weird is something you do not say to a customer in a crowded store. He obviously has no clue in being supporting Tesco’s brand and obviously doesn’t realise how bad customer service can affect a company.Secondly he antagonised the whole shop with the comment about Southend, as another customer then said to him, “why did you have to say that you have just escalated this situation to another level, there was no need to bring in the fact of where people live”Thirdly, If he was that good why didn’t the manager leave him in charge. So am I weird for complaining about a genuine issue. NoSome people use this word to bully, or hurt somebody's feelings in a negative way but a person with mental health issues that’s is vulnerable could take this completely differently. So I wait to see what happens when hubby goes back to see the manager tomorrow.#tescos #customerscomefirst #beproudofwhereyoulive
