We were warmly greeted by Ian at Exhibition Square. From the off, Ian was extremely informative, relaxed, and friendlyThe weather - bright warm and dry autumnalNovember afternoon was perfect for a gentle stroll around historic York - Britain's second city!Ian was always ready to answer any questions. And with the odd dad joke thrown in here and there, Ian was a delightful guide. He clearly loves sharing his knowledge to showcase some of Yorks' gorgeous historical areas.Ian was very conscious right from the beginning that he kept us up to date of safety issues - highlighting any low steps, narrow walkways, etc. At one point, when we reached a stone staircase leading up to the walking along the wall, he gave any member of the group the opportunity to leave if they were unable to manageThe tour overran by about 20/30 minutes, but we could have happily taken more time as it was so fascinating.Although Ian politely declined contributions as it's a free tour, ourselves included, there were several of our group that were more than willing to pay as it was well worth it.⭐️Highly recommend while in York that you spend a few hours wandering around with Ian or any other guide of this voluntary organisation⭐️

We booked the tour a day before via website, it was free of charge. We are in a group of 5 people. Amazing 2 hours walking tour. I walked around 10,000 steps and that was definitely good experience and exercise! Our guide knew a lot about history, very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!

My wife and I took a walking tour of the city during our recent stay. Our guide Liz was entertaining and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend one of these walking tours and the best thing is it's free.

Today we took this wonderful walking tour of York lead by an extremely knowledgeable & entertaining tour guide Fraser! We learned a lot about the history of York & how the architecture has changed over the centuries. Fraser also pointed out many small details that we would have never noticed. Thank you Fraser!
