Thornbury Golf Centre

Played Thornbury with a society, on arrival we had a bacon and sausage roll with coffee waiting for us, very good. We then played the par 3 short course in the morning for a bit of fun/warm up. Good little course to practice the short game and putting. We had lunch of sandwiches and chips which were ok but a tad dry. Played the main 18 hole course in the afternoon, nice course, well developed with decent and challenging greens and features. The long rough was a ball eater and likely you would not see it again. The round was a touch slow due to another large group in front but overall a great days golf. Dinner was good, some might say not enough but I thought it was adequate and tasty. Golf staff and Bar/kitchen staff were excellent. Will certainly be visiting again in the near future.

Was a first for me. Lovely place. Christmas parties going on , great atmosphere. Staff friendly, Definitely worth the visit

Stayed here a few times, lovely lodge, a little chilly due to high ceilings and spacious rooms however perfectly comfortable and clean. Only 4 stars due to misinformation on last orders for dinner during last stay: was told 7pm, arrived at 6:50pm to be told kitchen closed. Not the end of the world but disappointing and the young member of staff didn't seem to care. Otherwise, breakfast was nice, lovely golf course view and all in all, very good value.

2 very good courses the masters is tough.

Very pleased and felt welcomed when approached the club for membership. A great game with Ladies’ captain to get familiar with the course and other lady members. Excellent meeting with Cameron Smith, the Group Golf and Memberships Executive, going through membership options.

We had our wedding here on 4th November 2023. The venue is amazing. The food was fabulous and the staff was unbelievably helpful.

Lovely course, excellent facilities and great staff. Will be coming back soon!

I haven't played here, but I use the driving range which is excellent.Large number of bays with targets at different distances, but what makes this so good is the computerised training aids which allow you to practise or play a round on a well known golf course.You get visual feedback on ball speed, trajectory, flight path and a whole lot more.

Lovely place for a wedding, food not bad but it took longer for food to serve and not much communication between servers and customers. Needs work.When serving food or drink they need to call out so customers know what’s being delivered to tables.

Lovely stay in Thornbury Lodge which was set within its own grounds away from the main club. The bedroom decor and furnishings were of a good quality. The room itself was large and spacious with a superking bed which was super comfy and a wardrobe with plenty of hangers. The bathroom was beautifully tiled with quality fittings. Only minor point was the loo seat was yellowing which let it down. The Lodge was warm and quiet too. The restaurant at the clubhouse was excellent. The staff, service and food were spot on and not overly priced so we had our breakfasts and one lunch there. Would have happily eaten there more often but we were going off site as we were in the area for a wedding. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
