No longer dog friendly. Don’t bother. Rude staff.My husband and I and our dog regularly visit the garden centre about 2-3 times a year.Today we visited and we were spoken to like criminals by an assistant/manager basically telling us in no uncertain terms to get out as dogs are not allowed and the policy has changed.The web site clearly states ( see below cut and pasted from the website !) dog friendly.That is misinformation and misleading and not only that but such a shame for us and the garden centre as Grasmere is filled with dog walkers and you are basically cutting off a lot of their target audience.As for the assistant/manager - she came across very rude and condescending.We were on holiday and made to feel like criminals when all we wanted to do was spend money in the shop!I think they need to change their website and any dog friendly guides they are in as this is misleading advertising and against the law.READ MORE ABOUT USdogfriendly.png

Small but busy village, cars in particular, so keep youngsters close at hand, parking bit pricey with two hours for £4 first option,(no one hour available) garden centre always a place to wander and have a coffee or tea,

Very beautiful garden shop. Lots of plants outside and all kind of nice things inside. Got some really good help from a lovely lady. Inside is also a big place where you can have some tea.

Fantastic place to visit, great cafe,wasn't impressed by the state of sale plants and very few staff, pumpkin latte didn't taste of anything, but otherwise a great place

Arrrh great place to visit,lots and lots of gifts to buy,you really do need to see with your own eyes

Went in today with our Dog knowing that it was dog friendly but were asked to leave after being told dogs were no longer allowed - even though the website still displays the Dog Friendly Cumbria logo. Also their no dog sign was not very visible. If you change your policies you need to change it on your website and social media

Delightful place staff members are so welcoming.The mulled wine and lemon cake was delicious.Great spot to visit.

Understand they are undergoing a refurbishment (car park currently closed), but can't see any signs of actual work. Whole shop smells of paint. Garden centre is non existent at present. Looking forward to seeing the promised improvements. Cafe is not serving proper meals yet, and they have got rid of table service BUT have decided to automatically add on a 10% service" charge! Beware! This insidious practice is a joke seeing as there is no actual service. Also NO CASH! And NO DOGS! Can't see this place surviving with these new policies
