Goosedale Lodges

We had a lovely time. Maple lodge was really spacious and very clean. It has a luxurious feeling. Everything is done out amazing. the staff ( niamh) was really helpful and friendly. Area is beautiful and quiet.

Stayed here at the weekend for 2 nights in the 2 bedroom Holly Lodge for our (small) wedding. The lodge was beautiful and everything is to a very high standard.We stayed the night before and the night of the wedding and we all enjoyed every minute.I just have a couple of suggestions that are very minor but could make a big difference (especially to a bride). A high hook to hang wedding/ bridesmaids dresses on to steam etc, a full length mirror and the dressing table in the main bedroom is hidden from the natural light and quite hard for a hairdresser ect to get around it. I know the lodges aren’t always used for weddings but I know they will be at times.This didn’t compromise at all on the quality of the stay and the lodge definitely made our weekend and wedding even more perfect.

Our 2nd visit to these lodges and it probably won't be our last! Really stunning property and location - we really enjoy the peace and quietonly constructive comments would be the fridge struggled to stay cold and the rooms need another lick of paint.

5 of stayed in the Oak Lodge for 4 nights, first impressions, we were amazed how lovely it was, with lovely views and very spacious, but after a few hours we noticed quite a few minor problemsThe lack of cleaning stuff not even a dish cloth to wipe down the sides, no washing up liquid, only two dishwasher tablets, washing machine pods but no outside line or clothes horse??The settee was so uncomfortable and not enough seats for a 6 people, 2 beanbags are not seating in my opinionThe bed we slept in was the hardest mattress I have ever tried to sleep on and the dust underneath was thick and there was even a balloon under it that wasn't ours!!It was such a shame that all the faults were minor and easy to rectify but these lodges are advertised as luxury and they aren't, a little TLC is all that's needed,Sorry but we won't be returning ☹️

We stayed in the Maple Lodge. Absolutely stunning views and lodge is outstanding. There were a few small things that were damaged slightly which I wouldn't expect at this type of lodge but it didn't impact our stay. Bifold has issue but the team resolved it quickly and were fantastic. Really was the best lodge I have stayed in and lots to do in the local area. A few small things would make it perfect, like a long brushing broom to sweep the floors and fan or air con for the really hot days. Would highly recommend and will definitely come back.

I visited Goosedale with a group of friends to celebrate our birthdays. We had the best time! I can't recommend it enough. The lodge we stayed in was brand new and really modern. All of the furniture was sleek and the decor elegant. The lodge was both cosy and luxurious and had a large kitchen and living room perfect for relaxing with friends. We had great weather while there and were able to lounge on the outdoor sofas and relax in the hot tub. The grounds surrounding the lodge are very well kept and it is near a big Tesco which was great for getting food and drink. Overall we absolutely loved the lodge and are already looking to book again!

This is an amazing lodge, no doubt it is one of the most modern we have been to. Its large open plan design is beautiful, and things like the lighting strip just add to its impressive finish. I have got to add that one reason I've marked this as a 4star was because of the upkeep of the kitchen utilities. Things like the oven trays being very worn the side protector wobbling because 2 of the feet had come off, the oven gloves looking very tattie... these are such minor things that don't cost a lot but should be changed to keep that 5-star rating.The other reason I've marked it as a 4, is this lodge, the Holy lodge isn't as it seems on the photos. The lodge as I said is fantastic but the way it's situated means you don't get the views... your view is the other 2 Lodges. It's also completely viewed by the other 2 lodges and the access road in. In the day, if you choose to sit out on your patio table, have a bbq, the lodges and everyone that walks by... walks passed you. There is a screen on the side of the hot tub but again you are viewed if people walk past. In the evening if you have the lights on in the lodge, you can be seen very easily as there are no blinds or curtains in the main living area. I must admit this is something I would change if I was Goosedale.The staff are great and very helpful... Even said, as one of the lodges was going to be empty for a few days, we could use their outside space so we could enjoy the views.I know some of this sounds negative but it's more for information... we had an amazing week, enjoyed walks around the area , dinners in some great restaurants and very needed chill time.

We had an amazing time at Oak Lodge, the decor was absolutely stunning and very modern! We absolutely loved the mood lighting, the hot tub and the views were beautiful. We stayed here with young children and would also highly recommend Wheelgate park. Thank you for having us!!

Stayed here in September. What a gorgeous location and a fantastic stay.4 adults in “holly” lodge- perfect.Only criticism and reason for four stars if we have stayed in very similar around the UK- and the price of this was significantly higher. We expected a bit more luxury. In fact the cleanliness let it down slightly. As it’s self catering we don’t mind running a hoover around and cleaning - but to do it when you get arrive is a little annoying!Places will still blame everything on COVID but it did feel very bland without any cushions on sofa. We had one stall missing , no sofa chairs like advertised on photos and the crockery selection was mismatch with varying numbers of each.Most places I’ve been to the hot tub is filled up daily when they do their checks, ours (seemingly) wasn’t and dropped a good couple inches throughout the week. As an aside, one minor problem we noticed in hot tub late in evening was resolved straight away with one phone call!Also a sunken hot tub would have been far better as would be a shelter over it? The woooden beans offer no protection against the rain.That is my only faults though, as you can see the lodge is still worthy of four stars as it is a glorious place - especially given the location!

Had a fabulous week in the Maple lodge (sleeps 8) the interior decor is stylish and comfortable! Kitchen to die for! If your looking for a week in the middle of nowhere in a peaceful setting this is defiantly it! However plenty close by to venture out to if needed! If I had to nit pick the only downside (and I am really having to think about it) there were quite a lot of flies that would come into the lodge if the doors were kept open - maybe a fly trap or something to reduce the amount coming in! Also we went with a 2 year old who loves a bath every night the bath didn’t have a non slip bath mat - again these are very small issues! On a more positive note the lodge was very clean and such a safe spot for having a little one we could let him play outside and could still see him from the kitchen/living room he loved just roaming around coming in and out! We visited Sherwood pines which was great for little ones! Loved the hot tub, which was checked daily! All the staff were very helpful even the maintenance guys were happy to help and answered all our questions about the surrounding area! Would defiantly consider returning to these lodges!
