A bit dim in the rooms, but that's to protect artefacts that can be harmed by bright light. A great welcome from staff and volunteers, and a tasty slice of bara brith in the café.If you plan to use the EV charger, be aware that's it only 3kW and runs for only two hours with a token from reception. So it's likely to add only about twenty miles of range if you stay for two hours or more.

I am so lucky to live near to here. Over the last couple of years having this magnificent facility on my doorstep has been a life saver to me.

One of my favourite places to visit in the area. The formal gardens are wonderful to walk around or sit and have a picnic. The house itself is always a pleasure too. There is a longer walk that somehow I've failed to walk around yet too. On the grounds there's a secondhand bookshop, an ice-cream parlour, small restaurant/tearoom, giftshop, and toilets. They also have showcased local artists. The seasonal events give a lovely feel on each visit too.

The parkland and woods are great. Wonderful for dogs, children and photographers like me. They are well signposted for flat paths to difficult in wood slopes. It goes along the marsh field that follows the river, through the woods to the house. Or you can park at the house and follow the woods past the saucers up to the castle". My photos are taken over a period of early autumn to winter as I just love going so much. There are seats and benches all over as well if you fancy a picnic listen to the birds or watching the squirrels. Lots of wildlife to see and hear. A must visit as well as the saucer and the house of course. Then tea at the cafe afterwards."

A walk from the back gates to where the horses are (were), is always enjoyable.

Covid rules apply. Book your visit in advance on National Trust website. The garden cafe is open for takeaway. Play area also open. Lots of plants in flower ,including lots of spring bulbs. Nice walks around the estate and in the adjoining country park.

I often visit this lovely estate. The beginners photography group is run by volunteers and anyone can join. There are so many spectacular views waiting to be captured by my camera.
