Thanet District Council

The website would not let me pay for my garden waste so I got through on the phone to pay. Now I have received another request for payment. the web site wants me to register another property. Surely if they are offering the service it should be possible to pay without loosing 2 hours trying to pay and I have still to ring them tomorrow as now they are closed!!

I just had the pleasure of speaking to a lovely lady named Alison Watkins in the housing benefit dept . I had a massive issue with a housing/council tax claim ( on behalf of a family member ) and she went above and beyond to sort it all out for me . Well done Alison your a star ⭐ thank you for your kindness and the compassion that you gave to me while sorting out the issues that I had .

Lack of refuse and dog waste bins along parts of the seafront is shocking! Graffiti is rife (and not good" graffiti a la Banksy!). Public toilets are either closed or inadequate in their facilities. Locals are keen to help and improve areas but any enthusiasm is squashed by TDC officials.I could continue...Very sad."

This is the worst council I've ever lived under. They have not a bit of thought or care for their residents they just care about making as much money as possible in the summer.I went to take my dog down to viking Bay beach on the 3rdOctober, the day was hot and sunny, loads of people on the beach still. Get down there surprises surprise the lift was closed! So because I'm disabled I couldn't go on it. I see so many disabled, elderly, or mums with pushchairs go up to the lift to then see it's closed. We live here all year and pay our taxes. But the council don't think we are important enough. Also on my bins I have an assisted sticker, do they assist me? No they chuck my bins on pavements when they should replace them in my garden.Their a rubbish council!

I'm glad a new disabled bus pass was finally sorted out after I got proof from my doctor proving I have Asperger syndrome and that I am entitled to a disabled bus pass.

I had to contact the council today and had a very poor experience. Land has disappeared from under my fence, from the alley behind my house (council land) and they have flat refused to investigate saying it isn't their responsibility and that I shouldn't have contacted them anyway as that particular email address was only for renters. I was given that email address by someone from the council website. An ounce of common sense and they would have clearly seen the hole came from their land onto mine, my weed fabric and shingle is still in place with a big hole underneath it but they have 100% shirked responsibility. As usual, the sytem doesn't work. Waiting now for some smart reply to this review about the garden being my responsibility.

Got home from work tonight and have tried to make my council tax payment as it was due today. I pay it online as i cannot trust the direct debit payments.I have spent the last 4 hours trying to pay it through the website and surprise surprise the link does not load. I have tried 4 different devices and it still isnt working.Have emailed TDC to alert them of this. It will be my fault that it wasnt paid, and nothing to do with their website.

Three worrying issues with Thanet District Council Managers1)Closet xenophobia :A primitive tribal mindset which causes them to instinctively distrust antagonize and almost completely alienate recent immigrants.2)The constant misuse of council position/power/ authority to bully and pursue personal vendetta.3)Abysmal hygiene standards :Even with the £19.8m Ramsgate regeneration fund" given to TDC by the central government in 2021

Although I cant really fault the council itself as I have only lived gere for two years, I understand that times are tough money wise. We paid £30 for a bulky waste bin collection, this was for a mattress, a wardrobe and then 3 bin bags of rubbish... I had placed the 3 bin bags inside of Thanet District Council's seagull proof bags, the two muppets who came to collect the items didnt collect the bin bags inside their own seagull proof bags. No idea why not. Had to do half of their job for them by getting the bags out of the large black sack that their company owns. Disgraceful attitude. Neither of them wants to do the job.
