I can see how people had bad experiences but personally. 9 out of 10 nurses have ne nothing but brilliant with ne. The surgeons are 1st class aswell. Only think I will say is the pharmacy takes way too long sending prescriptions to the ward. I been waiting up to 8 hours at times

My son has spent over 24 hours on Buxton Ward and I have to say, yesterday we were treated so well. Matt (the Staff Nurse) in particular was outstanding and very attentive. I think Fridays can be a bit slower however, as our nurse today has only been to see us once (to give pain medication) and it’s now almost noon and we haven’t seen a doctor yet.We were hoping to get home this morning but after the Physio’s visit, my son needs a more permanent cast to be put on and everything seems a bit up in the air which is very frustrating!5 stars though to Matt and the team who looked after us yesterday!! It was very much appreciated.

If you were to ask me how good this Norfolk and Norwich was ten year's ago I would of said it's the best hospital around. All my kid's were born here and me and my kid's have had many hospital operation's done here and everything was ace. But over the last five to six year's my health has gone down hill big time. My liver is bad, my chest / lungs are bad and I've been diagnosed with Emphysema in 2017. I see the chest / lung specialist in 2017 and was told I would see him ever six month's and now we are in 2019 and I've not seen him since that first time. That's so wrong it's unreal. It's the same thing for my liver specialist, I've seen him a few time's and now I've not seen him in 2 year's. I've talked to my GPs doctor about this and got him to chase it up but still nothing. It was not until I had to kick off at my GPs really bad to get him to listen to me in early 2019. He chased them up and he said I'm sorry to say you have been lost in the system and I'm very sorry for this. The specialist's have not been doing their job right, so all I can say is I'm sorry for all this. Now I've got to be re-referred back to them to start it all off again. This is so wrong in so many way's that they just forget about people and don't follow up on them. If I were you i would make sure you know this could happen to any one of you that use this hospital before you start getting your appointment's here or have anything done in this hospital. The care for the people is just not there anymore like it use to be. It's just about the numbers they get and that's it. No care at all as you can see I've been left just to get on with. I'm housebound and they don't seem to care or want to care or to help me get better in anyway. And that's so wrong, I'm now going to the MPs about this as it can't go on anymore. Me and my family will give it a five star but only because of all the nurse's and other staff that keep this hospital going, ,as if it was just left to the specialist's doctor's this hospital would be down the drain. Its all way's nice and clean in the hospital, there's lot's of parking outside but you have to pay for this. I think that's wrong. So all in all five star's all round *****

No response to complaint from more than 6 months ago.In hospital in July 2023, after discharge I got a phone call from GP stating I could restart a certain medication, Unfortunately not told to stop, this could be fatal for some patients. Yet two months later no explanation or information provided.98% of complaints are upheld by NNUH (means lessons learned, most trusts 50% is looks like it is not true).https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/health/20631600.hospitals-complaint-figures-called-question-amid-claims-upholds-98/I have had similar mistakes twice (see below, failure to provide eye drops medication). When previously in hospital a dose of medication was increased from 4mg to 20mg. First told the pharmacist did this, then an unknown doctor, then named doctor but communication blamed. If this was a witness in court you would not believe them.Given the unusually high number of complaints upheld (lessons allegedly learned) I have concerns of there may be a cover up!Left without essential medication twice in three years. Same mistake repeated. Consultant ignored calls. A week before I ran out I was told 100% that I would have the newer licensed medication in time (previously unlicensed medication provided by NNUH). Only found out that I would a few days before I ran out. Nobody told me what was going on The head of the eye department said it was down to the consultant and did not know how to get medication and washed his hands of the situation. The consultant ignored calls and his secretary could not answer none of my questions. No apology from consultant despite same thing happening before under his care. I had to contact a specialist consultant elsewhere to get the issue sorted. The medication was available at another hospital but they just kept making excuses. The CEO and other senior managers were aware but do not care and as per below have not responded to safety questions months later. I wonder if there is a cover up because I cannot refer the complaint on to ombudsman until they have replied to the questions I raised. Went without essential medication for 3 months. Spent hours chasing and when the consultant did refer to another hospital he did it incorrectly. So if I had not contacted a specialist I’d probably still be without medication. All I was asking for was the licensed medication. They made excuse after excuse saying they can’t prescribe licensed medication, yet consultant said it would be no issue. A member of SLT said we can’t prescribe an unlicensed version if a licensed is available, against rules. They had been doing exactly that for 18 months. Three years ago CQC asked me to tell them if I had same issue of being left without medication, so are NNUH treating me like this because they want to hide serious issues? My consultant who ignored me, did not tell me or call me when I was left without medication or answer questions. He works in private practice but it suggests I am a second class citizen. NNUH only told a vague story of what was going on when I left a message on the CEO’s voicemail. If you are leaving me without medication at least tell me why and call me. Took me five minutes to find pharmacy with the medication. If you care why are complaints not being addressed? If I don’t get a response ombudsman can do nothing. Therefore unsafe practices can go unchecked.Ignored complaint after being left without medication for the second time in three years. First time was three weeks and this time was circa three months! Essential medication that is supposed to br taken several times a day, and a number of questions were raised in the complaint which were ignored. Other patients at the hospital with same issue. Senior members aware but have chosen not to respond to questions despite history repeating itself. Serous concerns this could be a widespread issue and perhaps there could be a cover up. This review is about a serious concern that they do not learn lessons or listen to complaints.

Please stop this parking and picking up nonsense!!!No rules followed and no reinforcement applied. They do have space in other car parks around the hospital and most of visitors can walk a minute or five.Bus and taxi services must be separated.

Friendly staff as always nice and spacious waiting rooms. I was surprised how quiet the outpatients department was for the afternoon. Also I'm surprised there's so many places to get a drink from there's little coffee shops all over the place. Disabled carparking was a bit awkward due to small number of spaces. However the free parking for Disabled people was easy as you just take your blue badge to reception with your ticket and they change it to a free exit ticket.

This place is an absolute disgrace for our NHS. Management is amateuer and a nightmare. The worse place for heart treatment. They post great staff about team awards but they really a team of few bullies that enjoy playing games with others and really couldn't care less about spending of public money and treating patients. The medical director is the worse. Don't trust the heart doctors, they don't care if you die or not they just do the basic job. Never enough staff there anyways and noone new stays there long. They all bully them out. They are just such a disgrace and should be reported to GMC. A pity most patients don't know how to go ahead against this villains. No care for patients. Frustrated and rude attitude - patient well being is not the priority.

The doctors and nurses are amazing the majority of the staff in the canteen are amazing. There is one member of staff who works on the till and she is very rude and not pleasant at all. I am a NICU parent and the last thing I need and I’m sure several other people in the hospital going through sensitive situations need is someone who is very rude and does not have any personal skills when they are just taking a break.
