Navidale House Hotel

Beautiful hotel with new owners who have a made the most of the fantastic location and building.Very welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay.Food was amazing, would highly recommend the soup and the burgers.The room we stayed in (Sandpiper) was warm on arrival with the most fantastic views of both the hills and sea.The bath in the bedroom was a great added feature, soaking away the days walks with a hot bath while still seeing the views and TV without having to get out was a big bonus.We will 100% be going back and hopefully soon

We're a retired couple on holiday from Australia. What a wonderful surprise this little hotel was! A small, family-run boutique hotel with an absolutely fabulous view of the sea.Our room was delightful; very clean and comfortable.All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu selection for dinner was fantastic and the dining room itself just great. The food was even better than we could have hoped for. And breakfast the next morning was just as good.

We stopped in for dinner and fell in love with this place! From walking in the door and getting a pint at the bar to wrapping up the bill and saying goodbye, the staff, service, and food was fantastic.We got steak and ale pie, breaded mushrooms, and dessert. The grilled vegetables were properly seasoned (almost everywhere we've been in Scotland has neglected salt particularly on veggies) and tasted fantastic. The steak and ale pie had a lovely flakey buttery crust, rich velvety gravy and perfectly cooked beef and onions.We can't wait to come back on holiday to stay here.

We stopped in for a dinner after a quick search on the internet while driving north. The dining room hadn't opened yet so we sat in the small pub and chatted with the locals and some people staying the night. We then got seated to a table with an amazing ocean view and enjoyed a delicious dinner. We saved this place so when we come back to Scotland we can stay the night. All the staff was so friendly.

I had the pleasure of visiting Navidale House at the start of November just before the end of season closure, and was lucky enough to stay in the Sandpiper Suite.Spacious room, comfy bed, with a luxurious freestanding roll top bath (didn't want to get out), and woke up to an amazing sea view.Having read some great reviews about the breakfast on offer, I had high expectations, and Darren's culinary skills didn't disappoint!A gem of a hotel, undertaking further refurbishments over the coming winter months. Would highly recommend!

Stunning place: beautifully restored old building set within a sea-facing garden; luxurious, tastefully decorated room with a big bath and an en-suite shower room. Vegan breakfast options available. Peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Fully recommend.

Great little stopover spot and a cracking breakfast.Super helpful staff assisted a late check in and a quick morning exit after a top breakfast.Needs a stronger coffee but otherwise a cracking spot.Current owners are working their way through a refurb and just doing things well.Fabulous stop off.Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.Go on a nice day and enjoy the views from the garden!

Top choice for a place to stay ! The room was spotless and comfortable had a wonderful sea view and all the saff were helpful and friendly. would definitely recommend.And many thanks to Melinda for letting me know I left our passports behind !!Ally xx

Very friendly family run business. Hotel is an old hunting lodge, lots of character in a spectacular location. My small single room was comfortable, clean and well equipped with en-suite. Sadly, arrived too late to eat in the restaurant, but ate breakfast the next morning (full cooked) which was brought out with a smile and was great.

We stayed one night in mid-September as we were driving along the NC500. Our room overlooked the parking lot, offering a view of the cliffs and sea in the distance. The bedrooms have been recently updated with new carpeting and paint. The bed was very comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was a bit outdated, but everything worked just fine. Plenty of hot water, and included shampoo, conditioner and body wash. No washcloths, and the towels were a bit small, but did the job. A hairdryer was available in the room as well as a hostess tray featuring coffee/tea, etc. Wi-fi was strong with no issues.The new owners were very friendly, and we were welcomed as if we were special guests. A fully stocked bar on the ground floor is manned in the evenings for guests wishing to partake of a drink. There is a large outside lawn with seating for warmer days. A path along the back ends with a lovely view of the North Sea and a bench to sit upon while enjoying it.Breakfast was not included in our room rate, but we chose to pay extra for the convenience. It is served in a large, bright room, with tables next to very large windows that overlook the lawn leading to the sea. There were several hot options to choose from in addition to yogurt, pastries and cereals. There was no fresh fruit. The waitress was quite pleasant and even checked on a food allergy for me to be certain that my choice was safe.This hotel is in a convenient location, and offers the charm of a historic building with modern room amenities. The views along the sea are breathtaking.It is located just a few minutes from Helmsdale by car, and probably could be walking distance, although hiking back uphill after a meal might be a bit taxing.
