Best home cooked food in a comfortable dining room. Great service too. Brilliant dessert options. Top marks for the apple crumble and mini Christmas pudding.

I'm giving top marks as the only thing I can fault is that the guy in the room next to mine, had to have been a world champion snorer. Anyway, the hotel has plenty of parking, it's easy to find, has good rooms, a very welcoming bar and helpful staff. They even sent my clothes to me that I had left hanging in the wardrobe. If you are looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay then I highly recommend this hotel. I will certainly call them on my next visit to the town.

Lovely stay at the Balavil. They were very accommodating for us as we’d turned up late and hadn’t booked food, but they found room for us. Comfortable rooms and very pleasant buffet breakfast with all the usual trimmings. Added bonus of some local live music in the evening.

The staff here were all so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant and bar area are very nice. Also check out the other area behind the bar which has live sport, a pool table, and darts. Our room looked basic but it was comfortable, the WiFi was good and the shower was incredibly powerful. We didn't mind how the room looked as it was just a place to rest our heads after a long day in the Cairngorms.

Visited as a group of 5 for evening meal. One youngster has a number of eating allergies. This is usually a problem eating out. Not here. They had a good selection on the menu for him. All the food was good. Prompt, friendly service and the bill was reasonable. We visited on a Monday night and the restaurant was well patronised. We will return.

Had a lovely meal here. Had the spaghetti with tomato and basil sauce, and it was lovely although a little bland. Staff were super friendly and polite. Bathrooms very clean too.

Just lovely. Staff were very friendly. We didn’t get to try the pool. The fresh salmon for dinner was tasty. breakfast hit the spot. The drive off the A9 is beautiful.Happy to recommend and will come back when we are this way.

This has to be one of the best hotels in the area.You'll get a warm welcome at reception and all the staff were above and beyond helpful.The room was very clean and spacious. Lovely on suite bathroom complimented perfectly.Both the evening meal and breakfast were superb. The waiting staff were the best in the business.Highly recommended and definitely a 5* option.Although any views are somewhat limited. The hotel and staff more than make up for that.

Impeccable friendly service. Breakfast buffet was superb. One night had dinner which was absolutely delicious. Only slight disappointment was being in extension at back of hotel however room was immaculate.
