The Railway Pub Putney
A wonderful, vibrant addition to Putney!I visited this new pub on Sunday and tried their delicious three-meat roast dinner (chicken, beef & pork!). Very generous portions, and really tasty sides. The refurbished venue is beautiful and I really liked the interior. With 3 floors, The Railway is very spacious and can be suited for all types of dine-ins/outings. We briefly checked the cocktail bar which was gorgeous. The staff were very accommodating as I had to amend my booking with short notice. And throughout our reservation, they were kind and patient - sorry I didn’t get their names. I can’t wait to visit again, and maybe even check out their Sunday pub quiz!

Came here to try the Sunday Roast as its newly opened and is local to me. Have had drinks previously, and although a bit pricey, it is a nice pub with a wide selection of drinks and good vibe.Roast was excellent. Good quality meat, cooked well, and flavourful good quality potatoes and vegetables. Top quality food! The service was lacking however, took our waitress 10 minutes to take our drink order, and a further 10 minutes to get our drinks. 20 minutes in to get a drink is really not acceptable. We did see a few other tables constantly looking around for assistance also. You must ensure you have enough staff around to pay attention to the customers. Customers remember bad service. You are a new operation so appreciate it needs optimizing, but do pay attention to details, it would be sad to see this affect your reputation as everything else is great!

I had a scotch egg here four days ago and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. Not sure who they’ve got in the kitchen here but they aren’t mucking about. The roasts coming out of the kitchen looked pretty special too - Yorkshire puds the size of a sports direct mug and very reasonable portion sizes, though it is pricey. Where isn’t these days though. Will definitely be returning.

Absolutely excellent Service, food, Guinness and overall cleanliness in this wonderful newly reopened Railway Pub & Restaurant. It was sorely missed. What an amazing GEM so close to Putney Railway Station and so well serviced by numerous buses.Well Done for bringing back a fabulous and convenient venue to Putney.Lovely atmosphere, low lighting, relaxing background music - so you you can speak without screaming and stretching your tonsils out to be heard.Fantastic venue serving delicious fresh food. Gives a lot of other establishments a good run for their money.Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good quality food served with a smile in a lovely clean environment.Well Done to all there!!

It had a good feel in here of a Friday night. It was pretty lively and there was a good buzz about the place, without it being too chaotic. Having not been here since it was Revolution it was a big improvement and it felt spacious and a good addition to the Putney area. The previous venue had lost its way in all honesty. It would’ve been good to see an ale or too on though or some more interesting keg pilsners.A couple of housekeeping points, but will put the first down to training. Always show the total on the card machine to the customer when charging - they’re parting with money so please be transparent. Hopefully that can be resolved. Also, when I’m paying £6.50 for a Moretti the staff could at least say thank you (or just anything, yes you the chap in the green and blue thick striped top) when you pay. Customer service is free after all! The first point I’d put down to training and the second point is a sign of someone who doesn’t want to work in hospitality. Much to improve on that front.Overall I’ll be generous as it’s a new venue, but if the basic housekeeping doesn’t get sorted it’ll be adjusted to a 3/5.

Refurbished cozy pub with 3 floors of spaces! Lots of drink options with craft beer on tap, and a special cocktail bar next to the roof terrace. Lots of seating and spaces available. Food menu is modern and delicious with lots of traditional pub fare with an updated style.

Visited this refurbished Victorian former coaching in and gastropub, recently refurbished to provide a convivial and lively local venue. Food was very good, and the menu varied. A wide selection of drinks was available as well.An asset to the area. Recommended.

Great Sunday lunch menu. We opted for the 12 hr shoulder of lamb which delicious and well cooked with plenty of vegetables, potatoes and gravy. With a great Yorkshire pudding too, of course! Highly recommended.

First time visiting yesterday since the opening, decided to check it out for a spot of lunch.Place looks nice and clean and well done up.It's bright and cozy and a good setting and had lots of seating areas which would work for different occasions.Had a good vibe there for sure and the team are mostly very friendly and welcoming which was a great new first impression. We ordered some food but had to wait nearly ten minutes for some cutlery and plates in order to be able to eat. This was not an ideal situation when your food is sitting and getting cold and you have two hungry little children.I would have expected this to have been sorted prior to the arrival of our food! The Pizza quality was nice and tasty and fresh. The Halloumi sticks were also great, The salt and pepper squids were not as I expected them to be since they were tiny more like crumbs rather than squid pieces. The steak size was small for the price but came with some nice little side trimmings. The fish and chips was ok but quite bland in taste and the triple cooked chips were over cooked as they were quite oily and hard to bite. There were a few soft pieces in the portion but I don't think they should be soaked into oil Because it made it quite sickening after eating a few of them. However I really enjoyed the tartare sauce and mushy peas which came with the fish and chips course.I was slightly disappointed with that outcome from our first time experience and some parts of the dishes but I would hope that next time if we visit they are more organised since you have to be in the wide selection of the hospitality industry. Also it would be nice if you could have small sauce selection to put on the tables with salt and pepper with napkin holders when people order food instead of the customers having to keep asking for things. Which is annoying for us and the staff there.Looking forward to trying their Sunday roast soon...
