Fantastic day with Paul covering a multitude of locations. I wanted a workflow as I have watched numerous YT videos, but I just needed a bit of real-world tuition from an expert. Paul brought home everything I asked for (except the weather!). I have a much improved foundational experience now and I am really looking forward to future days and locations with him later in the year. Thoroughly recommended.

Had a great week away in north and south Uist as well as a visit to Barra. Paul was extremely helpful with the holiday preparation and gave great advice and help on the holiday itself taking us to some fantastic locations. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

Spent a week with Paul and other's on Harris and Lewis in November 2023. We had a great time both when on site taking pictures, despite rain and wind, and during the evening around a glass of scotch. Paul is very easy to get alone, he is putting his guest at ease and a very good photograph. I greatly recommend his workshops.

I can’t speak highly enough about the experience I had with Paul and Adam on their Port Renfrew workshop. Paul and Adam are exactly how they appear in their videos and interviews, extremely talented and approachable real people. They not only took us to some of the most beautiful locations I’ve ever seen, but they really took the time to make sure each participant was successful in improving their photography and enjoying their experience. What I appreciated even more than that though was how willing they were to answer questions during down time and at dinner, they were complete open books. They really do have such a wealth of knowledge and meaningful experience turning their hobby/passion into successful businesses, and I am so grateful for them sharing with us. I highly recommend this workshop and am hoping to do more in the future myself.

I had the opportunity to attend a workshop Paul was leading on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada this past October. This was my very first workshop and I didn't know what to expect. I subscribe to Paul's YouTube channel so I had watched all of Paul's videos. He comes across in his videos as knowledgeable and genuine. So, I wasn't surprised when I met him in person and discovered he was exactly the same as I suspected from watching his videos -- a genuinely great person and a highly knowledgeable photographer!I had the pleasure to have dinner alone with Paul our last night together and I am so glad I had that opportunity. I know it's a cliché, but I really felt like I had known Paul my entire life.Would I attend another workshop? Yes, but only if Paul is one of the workshop leaders.

First time meeting Paul on a joint Uists workshop with Dean Allan. Great guy. Knows his photography and locations. Patient with all of us. But best of all was the banter and the fun had with the whole group throughout the week. Paul has a great sense of humour.The coffee brews were also much appreciated as was the weather he provided!

Adam and Paul have this incredible way of bringing together genuinely nice people, and it made the whole experience even more special.3. Local Food– Oh, and the food was really good! The tour took us to a small restaurant in town, and I must say, the food was exceptional. This one restaurant in Port Renfrew provided a wide variety of delicious meals, adding to the overall enjoyment of the trip.4. Handy Tips– Word of advice for future tour participants: grab your groceries before you hit Port Renfrew. The town's a bit limited in that department, but hey, it’s a small price to pay for the amazing experience awaiting you.5. Supportive Mentors– Adam and Paul were always there for us, patiently answering our questions and offering guidance. Their expertise not only improved my photography but also boosted our confidence behind the lens.6. Photography Outcome– One of the most satisfying aspects of the tour was coming back with a collection of photographs that we are genuinely proud of.Room for GrowthWhile the tour was fantastic, here are a couple of things that could've made it even better.a. Structured Learning– Incorporating formal training and/or demonstration sessions could help everyone grasp the nuances better. This would provide participants with structured learning opportunities, ensuring everyone can make the most out of the experience.b. Shared Moments– It’d be great if there was a platform for us to share our daily captures with the group. A chance to see everyone’s work and exchange feedback could really enhance the sense of community.In a nutshell, the Vancouver Island photo tour with Adam Gibbs and Paul Thomson was like embarking on a creative adventure with friends. The breathtaking landscapes, the shared passion for photography, and the warm camaraderie– it all made for an experience that will stay with us forever. If you love photography and want to elevate your skills amidst stunning scenery and wonderful people, a tour with Adam and Paul is an absolute must-do.

I have recently been on an excellent one day one-to-one workshop with Paul taking in Gelt Woods and Miltonrigg Wood near Brampton, Cumbria. I know the nearby North Pennines very well but these are two new locations for me which I would never have found without Paul's detailed knowledge of the area. With Paul's expert guidance I was able to take many images which I am proud of. Despite many years photographic experience I was still able to learn from Paul's expertise conveyed with good humour which made for a very enjoyable and fruitful day. I can heartily recommend a workshop with Paul, whatever your level of expertise, you will not be disappointed! Thank you Paul, I look forward to my next workshop with you.
