The Groom Room Durham

We took our puppy here for his first groom with a lady with dark hair and a fringe and lovely young man and he loved it. We then took him back a few times where a couple of the girls did a really good job grooming him and he came out so happy and cut exactly how we asked. However, our most recent visit was a disappointment. It was a different member of staff all together who didn’t listen to what we wanted. We asked to pay extra for teeth cleaning, paw balm and ear cleaning as well as his toe nails cutting. When we picked him up he wasn’t his usual self; he was extremely withdrawn and sad and his fur had not been cut properly, his nails weren’t clipped and the rest of the stuff we asked for had not been done. He was walking with a limp and we established he had a massive cut along his paw pad. We’ve had to pay to get him groomed again at another groomers 3 weeks later (he usually goes 6-8 weeks) and his toenails were ingrown. My Mam went in to ask if they could clip his toe nails and the young man was more than happy to do it free or charge and apologised profusely however, it was the same girl who had groomed our dog a week earlier who hadn’t cut them in the first place and she charged us again for it and huffed when she was asked to do it despite the other staff member assuring us it was no trouble! I’m still waiting for my deposit back. It’s such a shame because all the other dog groomers there have been fantastic and I can’t fault them but unfortunately this recent experience was a negative one for us.

Had my pup coming here since second injection as he’s a long haired dog. He’s now 7 month and he just loves the staff. Always tail wags (sometimes excited wees). Comes home looking amazing and happy.

Very poor service the last couple of times we have went. They have cancelled appointments where they have said they tried ringing us but have not. After having very successful cuts our dog got agitated by another dog (words of the groomer) and the cut cause some problem and needed two staff. They have said from now on we have to book two groomers due to the one issue we have had which they told us was likely because of the other dog. This is more costly and has to be booked over the phone and not online. Which again they did not communicate to us. The woman who rang just to cancel our appointment was very rude. We will be avoiding this from now on. It was a shame because the lad who is working there has never had any issues with our dog and always commented saying he was good.

Took our 5 month old puppy in for his first groom (we usually do this ourselves) and managed to get the puppy package as he is under 6 months. Left him there for an hour while we went to get some food, and then went back.He smelled absolutely beautiful. His coat was shiny, soft and well brushed, his ears were clipped and all the bits on his paws were tidied up. He was super happy and even got to meet another doggo or two, and seemed to utterly enjoy the experience.Plus we got an awesome bandana!Will definatly be visiting again soon, as we are impressed with the service. Also, he still smelled amazing 4 days later, which for a puppy is a feat on its own.

My humans have been taking me to see Tom at the Groom Rooms in Durham for a little while now, I love seeing Tom he really looks after me and makes me feel safe, he baths me , cuts my nails, blow dry's me and cuts my hair so i can see again, Tom is my friend and we love the Groom Room at Durham

Waited 10minutes in the queue while the gormless staff served others before me. Not an issue, I thought I’m here for my dog! I had an appointment booked for weeks, travelled over 20 miles only to be told we can’t do anything except give her a bath as we need extra time! Are you joking? Are you absolutely joking???? I’m furious what a waste of my time! This hole caters for small dogs only, staff are too scared of big dogs to groom them their set up proves that! All tables are for small dogs only well we don’t all own yappy rats who bite ankles some of us actually own DOGS!!!

Fantastic service from the Groom Room .. Poppy my cockerpoo loves to visit every 6weeks

my 3 very overdue cockapoos groomed yesterday. Love that they do not make you feel bad that they are overdue (they understand that you feel guilty enough).They have no problem with having them all at same time (understand that they are not used to being apart) and most importantly my dogs don't mind going.They even let them see each other at all times so they do not get stressed.
