Fitzworthy Equestrian Centre

Been here every 2/3 weeks for lessons for the past year. Lovely setting, great staff and fun. They now have a new indoor arena which is going to be good when the weather is not so good. The teaching staff are excellent and the horses are brilliant. From a complete beginner I think I can now ride with confidence. I did not realise that it is difficult to ride but thanks to Kate this old boy hasn't fallen off yet! However I've still got a lot to learn. Thanks fitzworthy.

Oceania was really lovely & friendly & our ponies were great. Thank you. However we didn't get the ride I booked & the lady in Reception, presumably the owner, could do with a lesson in manners. When your staff completely mess up someone's booking, it's appropriate to apologise to your customer, not give an angry sigh & roll your eyes at them. I guess she knew we were on holiday & wouldn't be coming back anyway so didn't care. I would have just walked away but I didn't want to disappoint my daughter. Shame as it was my birthday present from my husband.

poss the best equestrian Centre in Devon,horses and ponys are in fantastic condition and really well cared for ,staff are super friendly and are amazing at teaching within 6-7 lessons have taught my daughter more than she learnt in 2 years at her old stables

Lovely staff and amazing ride through the woods!! I loved the place and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is a bit nervous about riding because the horses are gentle and the staff are very reassuring.

I had regular lessons here for five months as an adult learner and have the highest opinion of this place. The horses are loved and looked after. The instructors are highly capable and thorough. Kate was my main and favorite instructor. I am a nervous rider and very much appreciated being matched to Oliver, an extremely stable and dependable horse, for most of my lessons, before having turns on Denzil and Henry when I got a little more experienced. Most of my lessons were in the indoor arena, although there is also an outdoor one. They also do hacks, as well as a Pony Club on weekends.

I love fizworthy it it’s absolutely amazing!! I’m having lessons here an it’s the best place to learn to ride. I ride a horse called dream and I absolutely love him! I think dream is loaned or owned by a awesome friendly girl called izzy. She’s super nice!! I come here nearly every weekend. I’d definitely recommend this place for beginners!!

Late to riding I can only rate Kim Northcott and the team up there with the best. Learning how to ride a horse in the classical style rather than as a general hacking rider is something I feel is essential to correct horse control and kindness to an animal that we have used as a working beast for hundreds, if not 1000`s of years. We ride horses for pleasure mainly in the everyday world in Europe and owe them the ability to ride in harmony. Kim and the team teach the classical seat with patience and great knowledge on horses that are masters of their trade and are in beautiful condition.

My family and I recently visited here whilst staying on holiday in South Devon. My mum, four children and myself all enjoyed an hours hack around the local area, riding near to a pretty river and stunning old bridges.Our youngest child has not ridden before but really enjoyed riding a little pony called Silver,being led by a friendly member of staff. She is really keen to ride again now even though she is only four!Our two elder daughters took part in a jumping day one day where they got to groom their ponies and tackup under supervision. Then they had a good lesson before taking part in a little jumping competition, where they gained rosettes and had fun on nice ponies. Because we were on holiday we didn,t take our riding gear but we hired theirs.They are having a good new indoor riding school built their too that looks good.We all enjoyed our rides. Thankyou.

the horses in this stable were not fit to ride, they were overweight and needed serious care. Will not be coming back to this crackerhole l
