With the support of Ruth, my daughter has thoroughly enjoyed the journey through her 11+ preparation. There is a clear structure to lessons, and spellings as well as weekly homework compliment the lessons. Ruth's explanations are very accessible, and my daughter has always felt comfortable seeking further clarification in class where necessary. The move to online lessons during the pandemic went smoothly - my daughter certainly felt that she was getting the same quality lessons she had become accustomed to during face to face tuition. Ruth operates a reward system based on stars the children receive for completing additional work and having practiced spelling which result in certificates - this has provided great motivation for my daughter. When I ask my daughter what she thought of her time with Ruth, I get a simple 'AMAZING!'From a parent view, Ruth was always available to answer any question I had - be it relating to lesson material or administration around the actual 11+ exam, and I felt that I was aware of my daughter's progress throughout her time with Ruth.And my daughter is incredibly pleased to be off to CCHSG next yearWe would both thoroughly recommend Ruth to anyone who is considering 11+ tuition and looking for small group lessons with that personal touch.

Ruth is a fantastic tutor. We started tutoring during the pandemic when my daughter was without any formal teaching and it was a godsend to have Ruth on zoom providing in person (albeit virtual) teaching and feedback. Ruth's scheme of work is clearly structured and very well paced. She's a great communicator and explains everything in a direct but accessible manner. She's also incredibly encouraging and supportive, which was essential for us as we were keen to ensure that our daughter was motivated to succeed but didn't feel unduly stressed by the process. In the end my daughter took the 11+ exam incredibly well prepared and ready to succeed and was totally unfazed by the exam setting. She achieved the result she deserved after all her hard work and we are extremely grateful to Ruth for guiding her so expertly throughout. We now have our other daughter tutoring with Ruth and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others.

Ruth’s mock exams raised my son’s confidence in the procedures and the format of the 11 plus exam. We had the added advantage of being able to do it over Zoom (with Ruth supervising the students) which saved travel time and exhaustion for my son. He grew in confidence and got better marks with each mock test as Ruth provided us brilliant feedback which helped us to spot his strengths and hone his improvement areas. My son has been coming to Ruth's 11+ classes over the last year, and he has really enjoyed his lessons. Not all tutors are the same (- we happen know some really bad ones from experience with an older sibling)... Importantly, Ruth has always been really positive with all the students, with a diverse and interesting material to challenge them, and I can see that every student is doing their best in the lessons and with the homework they submit. We have had to make a difficult decision to stop the lessons - but that was just because our boy managed to get into a private school earlier than we expected. Certainly the road to 11+ takes work and commitment, but the journey is better with Ruth by your side. Ruth has been an excellent and thorough tutor over the past 2 years for son - giving honest and constructive feedback after every session and piece of homework. We were apprehensive about the virtual sessions initially but they worked so well for our son and fitted into our schedule well. Ruth’s sessions were well structured,engaging, challenging and varied. The mock exams were excellent preparation for the 11+ and our son went into the exam calm, confident and knowing what to expect and came out feeling proud of his efforts. To get the offer of a place at CRGS last week was the icing on the cake! Ruth is an amazing tutor with great subject knowledge. Her online lessons are designed to inspire and motivate her pupils who are always challenged and pushed to achieve the best. Ruth's detailed and very specific feedback during my son's 11+ preparation was always tailored to his needs and abilities and turned out to be one of the main contributing factors to his success. If you have a great teacher, who is kind, affable, knowledgeable, and of course helpful then you are a lucky person. Ruth has all qualities and good choice to learn something with high standard. She knows how to conduct lessons and make the learner pick it quickly. My daughter studied with her for about one and a half year. She enjoyed studying with her.She taught via zoom. she always comes on time with stable internet connection. Most of the time I listened to her teaching , She alway maintained strict but friendly environment. Made all her students participate to her discussion.My daughter was mainly struggled in English comprehension and Verbal reasoning , after she started to study with Ruth, she improved a lot . She encouraged her to use good vocabulary on creative writing. Brilliant. Our child really enjoyed his tuition with Ruth. From our perspective he was really well prepared for the exam. What was most pleasing though is the overall impact that her tuition has had, ever since he's been more engaged and better focussed at school and is much more confident. We've already got the next one signed up!
