The Groom Room Chesterfield

Messed about, cancelled booking rebooked then that was cancelled and rebooked with a groomer who couldn't do a puppy. Eventually took my puppy for her 1st groom. She is a confident and sassy girl. I left her for about 1 hour they said then got a phone call to say that they had double booked and would be an extra 30mins. I went to pick her up she was still wet and trembling, I said what had happend and was told she had got loose and had been cowering in the corner in the wet............say no more I couldn't wait to get out of the place. I have bathed and cut her nails myself luckily she seems ok with me so will have to pluck up the courage to take her elsewhere

Don't go. I went into pets at home today and I saw 2 members of staff cleaning a dog. One of them was holding her nose as if the dog smelt. Looking at her facial expressions, she was disgusted. Not professional atall, especially with good Vision. That poor dog.

A great experience for both my dog and me came back smelling and looking amazing!

My young dog is genuinely excited to go to the groom room. The staff are lovely, and you can tell they enjoy what they do. And they do a very good job.

We sent our 9 month old puppy for his first grooming experience to Pets at Home “The Groom Room” hoping it would be a great experience for him to ensure he would enjoy future grooming sessions but the whole experience from start to finish was unorganised and traumatising for all involved.First of all they told us he would be 2 hours from drop off to collection which was perfect because my daughter was at a birthday party this afternoon so it would have been perfect to collect him after the party but my husband received a call to collect him an hour early which meant he had to leave the party because “the groom room” were unable to keep him until the time they originally gave us which was disappointing.We paid for him to have the “full” treatment which cost us £50 UPFRONT I.e. shampoo, blow dry, ears cleaned, teeth cleaned, deshedding and nails clipped. I can safely say his ears and teeth haven’t been cleaned! They’ve barely taken anything off his nails and he was still wet on collection! Considering they made us collect him an hour earlier than they originally stated this is appalling and disappointing!The worst part about the whole experience was the collection. He was tied up to a table leg!! My husband arrived to collect him and noticed my poor pups leg was tangled in the lead they’d tied him up with but the groomer didn’t notice this and was dragging him while he was whining and howling very loudly and still she didn’t notice or check if something was wrong until the point where he turned to nip her! My husband and also the lady stood behind him were both shouting “his leg is stuck” but she couldn’t hear them through the glass doors and continued to traumatise my poor dog.When she finally noticed what was wrong my dog was very upset and so was my husband and emerged from the glass doors looking very red faced and embarrassed.Needless to say our experience was poor and we will NOT be returning! This was indeed a horrendous experience for my pups first grooming session and I just hope it won’t affect his behaviour when it comes to future grooming sessions.

Usually have a great experience from this groom room. However, this visit was met with rudeness and lack of customer service. Took my dog for a treat as it was her birthday. This time around, my dog was very nervous. Barely any attempt made to make my dog feel at ease, this isn’t the problem. The problem was I was late collecting my dog due to heavy traffic and terrible parking on the retail park. Pretty much soon as I got there. “Hi, I’m going to have to charge you a late fee.” I didn’t question it as yes I was late but with reason. on top of this the other member of staff behind the glass shouts “DONT FORGET TO CHARGE HIM THE LATE FEE” as if that glass only allows communication between staff and there could be no possible way I could hear it.I could see my dog tied up against the wall pining to see me yet the person just stood there like a corporate shell with no emotion as if time had stood still, and there was no hurry. Should have charged her a late fee for keeping my dog tied up like an RSPCA advert. £57 it cost me in all, and for what? To be greeted by emotionless shells who treat your pets like an object.Never had a problem before until now, I’m all for following policy etc. but hey nothing wrong with saying hey I’m sorry but due to the fact you’re late we will have to charge you a fee. That’s understandable, but when you have corporate tweedle Dee and dum shouting about the fee. It’s bizzare and just stupid.Oh and to top it off, ended the sale with “oh we took pictures of your dog, can we use them on social media platforms” ooh aye, take with one hand but make use of my dogs looks eh?Think I’ll stick to independent groomers from now on.Two stars purely because my dog looked cute after.

I could not have been happier with the services we recieved when taking my dog in for a bath. They were friendly, professional and helped my dog feel at ease when we took him in. And he came out smelling great too! Definitely recommended :D

2nd time I've been let down by these, they never tell you anything until you take your dog all the way there just for them to try and say they've called and left a voice mail saying its been cancelled, they're either liars or have no organisation what so ever, dont go here unless you want to be messed about and have your time wasted.
