Iro Sushi (South Norwood)

We have ordered from Iro Sushi a fair few times for takeaway and in terms of good quality local sushi, this is the place to go! It won't be the best quality but for the price, it's definitely worth it!I went to pick up sushi from there yesterday and got good service at a reasonable price. We had a roll, gyoza and a poke ball. All were large portions and good quality fish.I haven't had any of the ramen or other rice/noodle dishes so can't comment on those. I would definitely come back again!

WellThought I’d try it as many of my local people have said it’s good and did try a roll once! So I ordered today. ReceivedRice instead of noodles. And chicken was dry. Walked back to shop they offered toMake the dish I ordered but I wasn’t interested! When I collected my order my starters were not ready so hungAbout whist they made it. No apology offered for waiting,And no apology when I walked back with the incorrect main! Won’t be ordering again! Seems like they are taking on more then what they can deal with! And upon entering shop was not very food hygiene worthy! People hanging about and didn’t seem to have no structure in kitchen, shop looks worn down. Asked for a menu and got given a used stained one that was on counter! If you’re a brand this shop has let you down big time!

I wish I could give no stars … we ordered via Uber eats this evening and less than half our order arrived… after telling IRO sushi what happened they said they would send our meal out within 10/15 minutes…. 45 minutes later and we have called them three times… they locked off the phone twice and the third time they said they are busy … absolutely disgusting service beyond belief

They do good delivery sushi!I am Japanese and the quality is acceptable. Not the very very best but something you would expect in London. They’ve got quite a good variety of sushi and my favorite is the Dragon Role which the entire role is deep fried! Just be careful when you order because there are multiple branches.

Ordered for a delivery last night directly from their website. Big regrets. After receiving a 45min estimate, I decided to call up after 2 hours to find out where our food was. I was told that drivers don't want to deliver to my post code as it's too far away. I live 10mins away, so the issue is clearly the opposite - my close proximity is not worth their drivers' time. There was no apology or update during these 2 hours.As a result, I chose to make my own way there and called them to let them know I was outside the store (there were literally 6 drivers jostling for their orders in the small space). Despite this, they still managed to give it to a driver, while I was literally standing next to them. So I made my way home without the food, effectively chasing it around south london. Awful service, and no apology was given due to the fact I missed a call from them, 2 hours after making the order. I got through on the phone to them 3 times in this period, with the phone line being busy for the most part.On to the food. I've ordered here before, so I expected a certain standard. However, rice was far mushier than usual, and fillings under seasoned. The softshell crab and chicken katsu rolls have very little flavour - do avoid these if you can. Additionally, the wasabi they use is for the feint-hearted - very, very low quality. Far more was required in order to get a hit.I've given 2 stars simply because more people may look at this as a result, and proceed with their order with caution. There are plenty of branches, so maybe head elsewhere unless you're a fiend for stress. Also, if you do opt for Iro Sushi, DO NOT use their website. Had I used Deliveroo or Just Eat, which is possible, I would have requested a refund of which I deserve.Right, back to lockdown.

Sushi was delicious and didn’t fall apart unlike a lot of of other sushi places I’ve been to . Ordered the 18pcs platter for both salmon and tuna and was very worth it price wise . However , I did ask if it was possible for the salmon nigiri’s to be seared considering there wasn’t an option for seared salmon nigiri on the menu but they did have a seared salmon special so clearly they are able to do it . Just a bit disappointing because it’s an extremely easy request and many other places I’ve been to have always done it. Luckily this one time I was able to do it myself as the other person I was with had a mini blowtorch . They also were not stingy with the amount of fish they actually put in the rolls which was good .
