First pub we have ever taken our puppy to and she loved it been back every night of the holiday. The staff are lovely the food was yummy. It's not cheap. But the staff and the location right on the beach with beautiful views. Make it a must visit for anyone down this way. Fern cannot wait to come back.

Amazing pub. Food was great and the Location is beautiful. The biggest thing for us was the staff. The managers were away on holiday so couldn't tell them in person, but their staff were amazing the whole week we were down in Downderry. A massive shout out to Tiny Tom, Ronnie and Meg, you made mine, my husband and our 2 dogs Benson and Kyro stay fantastic. Cannot wait to come down and see you all again.

Staff friendly but couldn't get a roast on Sunday despite being on the limited Sunday menu. Have to pre order which we didn't know about. Had fish and chips, tasted fine but the smallest piece of fish I've ever had! Not very impressed for £17!

Had dinner with family. Always a chilled friendly vive. Double beef burger and chips was great. Frickles starter and crumble dessert was lovely. Great attentive and friendly service from Meghan/Megan. Will be coming back.

Inn On The Shore
As the name suggests, Inn on the Shore is directly by the beach with fine panoramic views along the coast. The friendly pub had a laid-back style and offered dining inside, or out on the terrace. The varied menu was interesting and we were pleased with the quality of the food. Service was good too. For anybody that enjoys dining by the ocean, it's hard to imagine anywhere that would be closer. The property has its own car park. A stunning location and recommended!

Lovely pub but in mid August with 7 hungry people looking for food, we were told its bookings only. Restaurant was pretty much empty. This was 6.30pm in August as well so a bit disappointed. Hard to get anything to eat in Downderry without decent planning, days in advance from our experience whilst camping there, so be warned. Nice pub though, beautiful terrace directly overlooking beach with unbroken sea view.

Tonight we had a meal here, I ordered the vegan wellington, which came with sautéed potatoes (on the menu as the vegan option) I even double checked with the waiting staff.The meal came with butter drizzled all over and buttery mash potato.I questioned this to be sure and I’m glad I did as this was dairy. The chef had gone rogue and off menu.Although the waiting staff who looked after our table compensated me with a free drink, it worries me about our previous meals here. I do have to the say the person who dealt with this was wonderful!Just be sure to check and double check if you have any dietary requirements.

This is a very friendly pub who are very welcoming to dogs. The food is fantastic quality and at a price which is more than acceptable. We went in the summer and along with a truly beautiful meal we were able to sit outside listening to the waves on the shore with a pint and it was simply beautiful

Very disappointed with our Sunday roast yesterday. We called to book a few days ago and specifically asked if the vegan roast option would be available as two of us are vegan. We were told it would. When it came to ordering our food though we were informed that it wasn’t available! Very frustrating to be told something is unavailable when you’ve rung ahead to make sure it will be.We were offered one of the other vegan options from the regular menu, a mushroom pie, and we asked if this could be served as a roast instead to make up for not having the roast option. We were told no, it couldn’t because of the way stock is ordered by the kitchen which we accepted.However when our food arrived, we had actually been given the pie with roast potatoes and veg! No one had come to our table to explain that this could have been an option or even if that’s what we still wanted. In hindsight I would have much preferred the mash potato as the roasties were bland and not crispy, the veggies unseasoned and swimming in a pool of water, plus the gravy was gloopy and luke warm. The pie was the only saving grace.On top of this we were served Yorkshire puddings which we had to explain aren’t vegan, even though we had specifically made them aware multiple times that we were vegan.Service was lacklustre. Not once did someone check to see if we were enjoying our food or if we needed more drinks. One of our party asked for hot sauce which never arrived.All in all our experience was pretty dire. It’s a shame as the pub itself is in a great location with amazing views across the ocean. There’s a lot of work that needs to be done here, in terms of communication across the team and with customers, including knowledge about dietary requirements. This could have been disastrous if one of us had a severe allergy.
