Solid budget hostel with clean rooms and beds. Can't really go wrong as the location is excellent for getting to the beach or the centre of Bournemouth for stag dos/nights out etc. Only criticism is there is only a communal bathroom for single person use in the top floor where we stayed which between 3 rooms for 3 people took an extremely long time to cycle through showering for each person.

Awful. Hairs and rubbish on the sheets. Dirty shower, barely usable toilet that you couldn’t stand in front of to pee. Loose floorboards, homemade beds with knackered mattresses. Never again. Would rather camp!

Pleasant stay, slept well, clean bedding, cosy room. Beach 2 min walk. would stay there again.dog friendly.

Outstanding budget hostel.. Was expecting a lot worse after reading reviews but on arrival came to really like it. Rooms were clean and owner was very helpful. Cosy rooms and great prices! Wish we could’ve stayed more than One night.

I've stayed in the hilton many of times and would rate the spunkhouse 6* if I could,value for money is incredible. Definitely the most green hotel I've been in, they recycle and reuse almost anything. P.s if you're wondering why ply board is expensive the spunkhouse use a lot of it and this the reason it's sought after.

We were warmly welcomed on arrival and shown to our rooms. The house is incredibly large, and the rooms fit in a lot of people. The bunk beds are very high, so choose who goes on the top bunk carefully! The accommodation was adequate for a one night stay for a hen party.

We have had a horrible experience, we came in, the bedsheets were dirty, the toilet was flooded, there are no towels available, the toilet door fell on my daughter and the main door doesn't work at first, only after 4 or 5 attempts. Overall it was disgusting there is no breakfast. No receptionist . I am loosing my money but I cannot stay in a place like this.
